Maybe including Akio Toyoda watching one of the biggest US Toyota dealers bidding.

Potentially due to the 2000GT shill bidding scandal a couple years ago.

Not with that design, but it could be done. I'm sure we will see a wing, front bumper and other body mods on top of the 2jz swap soon. Just give it six months from the release or less.

This wing is probably the best looking, IMO, and the most popular aftermarket wing for the Supra. As you can see, the design could allow for a smaller width anchoring point while still coming wide enough on the body to be wide.

Yep. Placing it on the lid it self is certainly and option but not near as fun to picture as trying to make one work with the hatch!

Gonna buy it no matter what. Just gotta be bit patient in case they hint at manual 6spd.

I love everything but the front. Looks ugly to me but it's a face a mother can learn to love. 1 inch at a time.

I realized that all my favorite Toyota sport cars have engines not 100% Toyota. Like Yamaha, Subaru and now BMW. I'm going to give BMW a try. I hope the Supra engine is hand friendly like the FA20 and not like those yucky Mercedes engines. URGH.

May as well buy it. Waiting will be the same as the turbo 86/BRZ that everybody keeps saying will come out "next year". If they were going to have a MT then in all probability they would have said so at release. For whatever reason they have decided on AT only and all the "MT will come out" talk is wishful thinking.
That said wait until the second model year anyway just to avoid any possible headaches.

And to avoid the $2.03M dealer mark-up if the first sale is any indication!

Well you can claim up too the equivalent of 75% of your annual income as a charitable donation so that off sets a bit.

Depending on the residual value, it might pay to lease for a year or so then buy out. By then any weaknesses in the platform should be exposed, too.

The Supra is very likely my next car once I'm done with the ND Miata. I'm trying to plumb my old contacts at Toyota and Lexus Canada to see if I can weasel my way into the press drive event.

I think my problem with the car is its proportions compared to the FT1 concept. all the lines are pretty much the same on both, but doesn't translate that well to the shorter wheelbase (the FT1 is longer and the wheels pushed more to the edges). I think the hood is the worst though, as the FT1 was low (like in the 86 as well as the LC500) but its high up on the Supra and looks....bloated?

My other problems of the car is that it has no manual, it only has 2 seats and it costs 50+k to start (likely more up in Canada). At that price point it hink i'd be going for more of a cruiser/grand tourer car. I want to like it (ill also wait for it to come out so i can test drive it) but I don't think the car fits my needs...plus I cant afford it anyways lol.

If I had to guess, I would say $55,000 - $58,000 CAD for the base 3.0 Their conquest targets are primarily Cayman, F-Type and SLC with a smattering from the domestics ('Vette, Camaro and Mustang). I'd wager you are going to see the most media buys and ad campaigns in Ontario (GTA, Halton), BC (Vancouver) and Alberta (Calgary).

Expect next to no financial incentives except maybe a small manufacturer discount ($500 - $1000) a year or two post-launch.
