If you bring the car to us and we do the whole swap it's going to be around $25k and that price is extremely variable based on a lot of options. I get about 5 emails a day about it and 1 in 20 of them makes it past the first email.

All I can say is, you can't truly appreciate this swap with our software until you drive the car. I took it out yesterday and we programmed all the MoTeC traction control, it's unbelievable. I will be making a video next week explaining all the levels of control. Just to give you an idea, it's so advanced that you can drop the throttle to the floor and never lift all the way through every gear and the car never breaks loose. It literally pedals the car for you. I've never felt safer driving a 500hp car on STOCK tires!
Does that include the engine and transmission?

I've seen the engines for $3000 but transmissions are all over the place, I wish I could buy them in bulk and be able to include them in the price but it's too variable to do so. You can save a few dollars here and there when piecing a kit together, example, this car has a $1700 precision turbo but it could be a $700 borg warner, it has a custom intake manifold that we sourced for $900 and modified, but it could be stock. You could get a $500 clutch instead of a $900 clutch. But the end result will vary and I don't know about you but if I'm going this far into modifiing the car, why do things twice?

Thanks for answering.

Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to nickle and dime the price. I just honestly had no idea. Also, that's about $40000 CAD. Which is WAY outside of my budget for car mods. I'm just here for the porn, wet dreams, and to learn.

Testing it in the next couple months, working on the harness now.

$25k for a budget swap. With an open ended completion time. One year plus and counting.

OK

Well, the car is done as well as all the r&d and electrical work. So now that everything is finished it wouldn't take anywhere near that long to repeat. That price includes all labor, you can obviously do it yourself. It also includes a car that does every single thing a stock frs does, not a ghetto swap. Can you do it cheaper? Of course. Will it be crude? Probably. The amount of time we spent with the electronics package is well worth it. The capabilities of the ecu are endless and the car has every oem feature, some even more refined than oem.

Could literally knock this swap out in a month if all the parts were present. Oh and all the money from the customer would have to be present. Probably 2 weeks in reality. Who's next ?

How much extra fab work would be needed if this is being done in a garage? I remember reading that you had to modify the CX mounts?

There's some drilling for that. The tunnel has to be clearanced, the trans mount should be welded for sturdiness, the shifter opening must be modified, the core support has to be modified, the firewall needs some adjustment,it's not just slip it in there affair.

I gotta agree with @Scrappydoo. I know swaps aren't for people strapped on cash, but when the topic says "Budget 2JZ Swap", I expect something lower than 25k. Isn't 25k for just kit + labor kinda normal pricing...?

The 2jz can obviously handle tons of power. The r154 can hold over 500whp-700hp from what I read. Is the rear end a weak link at those power levels? How much more is the V160?

Just curious, is this a swap people do because they don't want an old Supra or can't find one or just really like the 86? Because this and a car is like $50k+. Seems like buying a Supra would be cheaper, or dropping a 2jz into something else would be cheaper. It is cool n all but just curious.
