Need help: Planning to buy...

I need some help. Planning to buy a Scion FRS but the dealer around me doesn't have the particular color that I want. Note: this will be my first time buying as I am new here in the US.

Model: Scion FRS
Year: 2014 <<< do you guys think I should go with 2015? I heard I can get a good deal with 2014
Trim: Monogram <<< do they still have this? If no, Im ok with the base but I like that upgrade.
Color: red <<< a must
Transmission : Auto <<< a must
My location: near downtown LA CA. Im ok if it's within 15miles.
When: Im ready to buy anytime but I heard from a friend wait for October when 2014 prices will go down. Is this true?

Im also thinking getting subaru brz but when I cheked it with one of the dealer thay said the red is a hard find and currently no one has it in california. Also dont like the front mustache but can live with it.

I hope someone can help me buy my frs. Thanks!

If you don't mind a brz, check with @HeubergerMotors. They can find it anywhere in the country and get it for you.

The October thing is because that's the start of the new fiscal year. Not saying your friend is right or not, but that would be why.

A 2014 is a year old in 4 months. The 2015 is a year old in 16 months.

Not literally, but optically. I could have saved a few bucks by getting a 2013, but it wasn't worth the perception of it being a "year" older right out of the gate.
