Same here, on the shelf. waiting on my car. Im not sure if this is the same concept but i had an idle issue with my mustang i just unplugged the throttle positioning censor and it stopped, the rpms always being high. I don't have my car yet to look at the engine components so i can hardly help u at this point. maybe after i bolt on my pulley.

I'll remove the pulley if I get a CEL so they can't blame it on that even though I told my service department about it when the stock pulley was on. I got tired of looking at my pulley sitting on a shelf so I installed it on Wednesday.

Look in the commercial market place section in the forum twards the botton. Then go into the engine section. There are quite a few vendors selling these.

EDIT: I didn't expect the pulley to solve this either. I'm just waiting for a CEL to come on if it does. If it doesn't & I have a problem in the future, it's been documented 1900 miles into ownership.
The pulley will not fix this problem. I have experienced this on my car and there isn't one thing that causes it. I have done it with AC on or off. The good news is, that I can log lots of parameters and firgure it out. What I suspect it is, is an over compensation from the idle control stuff. The other factor is the Port injection and Direct injection switch on and off at idle sometimes, which that could be it as well. I suspect a tune will fix this, but I have NEVER had mine die, or actually stumble. The most i have seen is the RPM drop to 500-400 and then it comes back up.

I mentioned this to my dealer 2 days after I got the car. Making sure that it was noted in the system. The idea being that after I get 3000 miles I can take it in and see if they have a fix.

FYI, I emailed Chris about my 2nd-batch crank pulley order and he assured me it has been shipped.

Also, he was very appreciative of our support on this forum and thanks us for caring about his company. He very much looks forward to being back on here after the 1-month ban.

While this part is on my list for sure my question has always been about why Subaru hasn't made this a light part from the start on their performance cars?

Making this a separate part for the WRX/STI/BRZ would seem to make sense because it would add that much more responsiveness to their performance line up. Is it just a cost issue?

for those that have idleing problem, have you tried disconnectig your battery?

i did it, and i think it erase the flash memory with OEM setting and self adjust it to the new pulley setting.

Which sensor's reading do you suppose would change due to a decrease in rotating mass?

to be honest, i am not quite sure since i was not able to get my dataloger going.

but. i did get a CEL when i first installed the pulley after the light flywheel installed. when i disconnect the battery, the CEL went way and the idle correct it self.

I got a check engine light too, but I assumed it was because I forgot to plug the MAF back in before I started the car. So I shut it down and plugged it back in and after 3 drive cycles the light turned off.
Did you happen to forget to plug your MAF back in before starting the car?

Question. There are little plastic covers that cover the alternator and compressor pulleys. What's the purpose? Are those important? Can they be removed for weight reduction (though its not much)?

Almost positive it's just a safety/protection thing with those covers. At first thought I figured it was so you could work on the engine without getting the belts all dirty.. or yourself hurt on them while it's running.
