Agreed.

Hyundai does that with the Genesis because it helps keep cost down. No need to make a whole bunch of unique ones, just get a batch of this trim level out, then the next...then repeat.

I like how Ford has it with the Mustang. You can get almost every option on any trim level. Every buyer gets exactly what they want.

The problem with aftermarket LSD is that the install is so expensive. And it's a little too complicated for DIY unless you're really into wrenching.

Mystery Hyundai diff, $1700 installed. TRD diff good for 4-figure HP loads, $1300 DIY install. Hmmm...

So if you don't want to buy the higher-optioned level, you just order the replacement part from the 'Sport' (or whatever) model from the dealer? That could be tolerable if Toyota did the same thing.
