beh just compare it with cars with similar power/weight.

Previous gen Celica GTS was low 7's can break into the 6's. (180hp/2500lbs)
Civic SI i think i around 6.5 seconds (200hp/close to 3000lbs?)
Volkswagen GTI is i think around 6.5 or low 6's (200hp/3000lbs?)
My Corolla XRS is supposedly around mid/low 7's, can break into the 6's with bolt ons (170hp/2700lbs)

I expect the car to be around 6.5

Don't forget in addition to power/weight ratios, gearing has a substantial effect on acceleration times too.

I'd say 5.8-6.7 seconds. I used this http://www.060calculator.com/

167hp at the flywheel (15% of 197hp) 2,600lbs = 6.5 if I did that wrong and it really is 197 at the flywheel, then it's 5.8 seconds.

It has similar numbers to a 2.0L Civic Si and that car hits 60 around 7 seconds...

0-60 times are hard to pin down anyway. Google any car 0-60 and you'll find a good 5 or 10 wildly different numbers...depends where you are in relation to sea level, temperature etc.

hp rated at the crank is same as flywheel..then subtract around 15% from that from drivetrain loss to the drive wheels..

Flywheel HP = 197
Wheel HP = 167

I think that's just journalists not realizing that there's a difference between PS and hp. And that's not even accounting for the differences between SAE J2723 and JIS D 1001 testing standards

It's significantly faster than my daily driven Civic SI and I still have fun in that.

In any case, I'm sure the car will hit mid to low 6's...
I hear you on that... my sc-ed si is so much fun and i should be pushing around 230 so i hope this would be just as fast stock!

USDM gets a less restrictive exhaust that supposedly sounds better and bumps power to 200hp.

Where did you find that 'fact'?

It wouldn't make much sense for them to do this here and not in the other markets.

Geesh you guys need to read more about the car and spend more time on here

Tada said it. I will get you your source. Better flowing (3hp) and better sounding. We talked about this on here extensively a few weeks back.

Also, that engine will be rated at 200 hp in the U.S., Tada says. U.S. models will get a unique, less restrictive exhaust to bump them from 200 PS (197 SAE hp) to a full 200 SAE hp. It also adds a better exhaust note, says Tada.

GT5 would be exactly correct.

200hp
2,800lbs
0-60 in 6.05 seconds
