First oil change parts question
Following are the items I’m about to purchase for the first oil change on my BRZ. The Motul 0w20 is labeled as High RPM racing motor oil, is this the right variant of Motul for our car? Does the bundle include the crush washer?

What you have there is fine. How many 2 litre containers of oil did you order? You'll need 3.

For this particular version of Motul oil, does the words “high rpm” matter? Is there another version of this 0w20 by the same brand?

As this V300 is too thin they mean it favors high revving than a thicker oil!

I wouldn't use that in a street car, that oil is designed to be used hard, then swapped out.
It favors hp gains over wear. Unless you plan on changing your oil alot. Or because racecar. There is heaps of info IRT on the webs.

Which brand does the dealer use? I have an aftermarket header and flex fuel kit, so I do run on e85 sometimes, does that matter which type of oil to use? Can I just get the same oil dealer used?

Any GF-5 oil will likely treat you fine as long as it's 0w20. If you want some good stuff a lot of people here like the Amsoil signature series or Motul 8100, but I believe Mobil 1 is a popular off the shelf oil used among 86 people. It really depends on how often you wanna change it and what you use the car for.

If you're primarily driving on the street and want to keep the recommended 5000 mile oil change interval, you should definitely not use the Motul 300V, as it is not intended to be used on street cars for the long term. It's a racing oil designed to be changed between track events. As someone else mentioned Mobil 1 is a pretty easy to get, inexpensive, and perfectly reasonable option in a street car. I personally use AMSOil, although it's kind of expensive, I like it well enough.
What tells you if you need to up your OCIs or have unusual wear from E85 is getting a used oil analysis done. |

My current oil of choice is Idemitsu Zepro 0W-20 Eco Medalist
One of only 2 0W-20 oils that are ~35 cSt at 40°C (vs market avg of ~45 cSt at 40°C, the other is Toyota Genuine Motor Oil 0W20). Makes my engine feel butter smooth and +2 mpg. I had to relearn the NVH from my engine after changing to this oil because I had less engine vibration. Try it while they're cheap sub $30 .. I've seen them go up to $33. I grabbed 3 5 quarts at $25. I should have pre-ordered when it was $20. https://www.amazon.com/ZEPRO-3001009...tsu+0w-20+zero

the Subaru dealership I purchased my car from last month put full synthetic 0w-20 castrol edge in the engine. Seems to be holding up well.
