while other joined the queue early with appropriate clauses to pull out if they are not happy with the car. these people will now either have their deposit back or have taken (or soon) delivery of their new toy.

I think I had to wait 4 months or so for my Prado when I ordered that a few years ago. 3 months is nothing, we are only at initial release/panic buying stage. There's a few advertised for sale with delivery this year, I don't think it will be as bad as the stealerships will make out.

That's true, but the majority wait for test drive before ordering. I know a few people who just ordered before driving the car, but they waited until pricing was announced. How many new guys here in this thread with join date Jun 2012?

Now you can suggest to people here they should buy a Commodore instead if the 86. You made a **** of yourself on JDMST. What makes you think the reception here should be any different?

Bought it three years ago. Maybe next time I'll make the decision based on some random opinion from the internet but I can't be certain.

The missus asked today, they got a GT on the floor right now, and a GTS turns up later this week. Not sure on colours or man/auto. I'll go check out the GT tonight, and we booked in for GTS test drive next week!

Both not sold.....

I test drove the 86 before I bought it, hated the power, loved the handling. Unfortunately I needed a car and its probably safe that its not overly powerful

I only put through my order yesterday, so I do believe ill be waiting a couple of months before I even get a call from Toyota telling me that my car is on a boat.

I saw that too! However I think that guy is trying to capitalise on the lack of supply as he's jacked up the RRP + Onroads by 2k.

Profit is not a dirty word. If the demand is there they have every right to ask that price. Which is about $50 over retail....
