Hello Everyone

Ibegan to hate my 86

Ilive in KSA and we have two options for fuel 95octane and 91octane and actuaiiy it less octane than that !

ats funny to be in country floats above oil and hes no 98octane......Im afraid that will damaged the Engungafter time

any suggestione because i feel that the engine is suffening , vibrate strangely especially an traffic jim or suddenly stoping after along ride.....

sametimes the RPM go down 800RPM and get Cheak Engine

1- is there a salution to the fuel problem?

2- iheard from alat of 86 owners thet heat which comes from the headers cause damage to onn of the lgnition coil's.....and case the same symptoms....trur or not ?

is your fuel 95 RON.??
yes it does rearly need 98RON fuel for best performance and smoothness.

do you know what ecu calibration id your car is like ZA1JA01G.

IF your car was made before mid 2013 it may have an old ecu calibration and dealer should reflash if you have idle problems.

suggest you take to dealer and get them to check

we only have 95 RON here in SA and our cars seem to run ok with them, even though the fuel flap says 98 RON only

thats correct it will run ok but at reduced performance.
if you have ecu logging device have a look at your IAM its probably about 0.5 or less and you will have sognificant knock although you may not hear it.

you guys run same ecu calibration as here in australia and i have seen stock cars with IAM of 0.7 or less on 98 Ron fuel and knock correction of 3 or 4 degrees.

however the original poster apears to have other problems possibly related to early ecu calibrations such as 700 900 or A01 ecu calibrations or the cam actuator problem if his car is running that rough and stalling and idle dip and stability issues.

sounds car has a problem though if its under warantee should take it to dealer

Unfortunately, my friend KSA is not as many people imagine

Is the use of 95 will damage the engine....؟
Or just about losing power.......
I need to solve problems ....Or may be forced to sell

And I will make sure of the date of manufacture of the car soon

The use of 98 is recommended the use of 95 is required so don't think you have a fuel issue. Since mine is a daily driver and I am not worried about top performance I run 91 (the NA equivalent to your 95) pretty much exclusively with zero issues.
Like has been said already get you ECU flash level checked as that is more likely your problem.

You could always add some octane booster at every fillup.

I really need to try this, with some good octane booster, on a hot day you can feel a serious drop in performance

so what you are saying is that with the knock you mentioned above, this will actually affect longivity of the engine?

theowners manual recomends 98 ron fuel for best performance , it also states 95 ron fuel can be used but it will reduce performane ue to the ecu pulling timing when it detects knock.

the ecu should control knock well enough to prevent engine damage.

however if your car is stalling and idling erraticly this is likely to be another problem and you should get that fixed

that number is vin or vehicle id number, what you need to know is the ecu calibration id you will need an obd scanner or similar to read cit from ecu.
if your car is pre mid 2013 manufacture there is likerly an updated ecu calibration the dealer or you can flash.

95 octane is fine. The engine will adjust the timing.
Also, the idle RPM without A/C is only 650 rpm so 800 should be ok, unless if it is fluctuating all the time.
If the RPM is fluctuating without A/C and check engine light on then bring it to dealer!
