Explain the mechanics of how a tire that's rolling on its shoulder during cornering will provide more grip if you make it roll on the shoulder more. Thanks.

You can find out correct tire pressure by looking at the tire temperature (outer, middle, inner sector). There is no other way doing it right.

I expect the noise was at WOT and even the MT with a 4.1DR has a reasonably tall 6th gear (for a small displacement sports car):

70 MPH ~ 3000 RPM

It ought to be plenty livable, though if your priority is quiet high speed cruising, a lightweight car like the FT86 isn't the best choice anyway.

It's best not to expect FWD MPG out of this but the MPG est(which is ) is roughly the same as the Miata. Those get good real world MPG from what I hear. Expect if the EPA MPG that (hopefully) it gets good real world MPG instead.

If the FR-S base price, before delivery, is above 24k I will eat my hair.
The 6spd is only available on the Touring, which is $25k. There isn't a base model for the twins so it's better to compare midrange.

$25k just means I need to wait longer before I buy one. As much as I don't like waiting, I'm still young enough to afford to wait.

Look, there is a point when pumping further reduces tire grip, but it's not anywhere near stock psi levels.

Lol, do your research dude. They might not be as crappy as regular Prius, but they are nowhere near what people run on most Evos.
Heh. Autocrossing Prius.

Thanking for reminding them that the tires are not stock prius tires.

Both. Its no coincidence that this exact same motor will have a turbo added and used for the wrx. This has been discussed in numerous other threads. I believe that there is no way that turbo won't make it into a brz since it will be emission approved for the US. Adding that engine means this car can compete both with a miata and a 370z at similar price points to each.

Others on here believe that it won't be possible to fit the turbo or that it would compete with the wrx sti for sales so subaru won't make it. A few others believe that the car will somehow be ruined with the addition of more power because it will somehow make the car less fun or make it impure. I don't believe any of those statements.

Just didn't want to be driving down the highway to an appointment talking on the phone and it sounds like I'm in a Verizon commercial for the hard of hearing.

It should be used as a fine adjustment, though you'll see some desperate measurements at your local parking lot race.

I ran higher in the rear of my S2000, the infamous "wahhhhh it oversteers too much" car to get more rotation out of it. I determined that you had to be a tard to get an S2000 to oversteer uncontrollable..

So yeah, I agree with the higher tire pressures in the rear, all of my cars are setup like that.

Lol, pulling rank?

Didn't know there are people who do those on whimpy street tires with weak sidewalls...otherwise you should be smart enough to know when your knowledge is applicable.

Like I said - on decent tires it won't be true, since they have stiff sidewalls/wide profile etc.

Also, rear tires won't roll as much, so it's less relevant. Pumping front ones from stock psi will give you more corner grip. And again - does not apply to race/semi-race tires.

Did you guys even look at the 0-60? 6.0-6.2? That's freakin awesome for 26k! It's tiresome watching all these whiners wishing for 22-23k, this isn't a mustang; wake up people!

First off the 0-60 is a estimate and secondly I don't understand how these guys are "whiners" for hoping for a 22k-23k car(I could understand under 22k now). This car isn't a 26k car unless it's coming with a good amount of amenities standard. The 26k is what I expect a BRZ Premium 6spd Automatic to cost.
