So I hear that the LEDs don't work as DRLs on the 10 Series, any truth to this? Because that would suck.
where did u hear that from? the LED ONLY works as the DRL on the 10 series.
someone already mod the LED to work when the low beam is on

Ok must've mixed it up in my mind. But either way somehow they weren't fully functional. Glad someone figured out a mod to get them to work though.

This is not how they supposed to work in the euro/jap/austro/everywhere-but-USA 86 version.

Did Scion messed up, again?

clicks/reads some more then

even if you do spot a 10 series at a parking lot and look at the vin they will ask for address and info
If you need his address follow him home lol

By default, there are differences between JDM/Euro/10Series spec headlight as @ragingSPAM explains:
Quote:
There is a difference between the led brightness, I've directly compared a 10series, gt86 headlights with no drls and the euro spec with the 7wires which include low led and drl led. The full bright of the DRL on the 10 series is NOT the brightest it can get. The euro spec when parking lights are on along with the DRLs are super bright, even compared to the 10 series drl. There is a third pin out on the LED board inside the headlight which can be tapped into however it would require a lot of work taking apart the headlights to do so. I'm thinking about tackling the project and I'll post some photos if I do.

I have the Euro spec headlights as well. The LEDs in parking mode are blinding bright. And also when HID headlights are on, the LEDs remain on.

Awesome!! I'm hoping that if this guys are selling them at below $700 then dealer cost might be around $500 or $600ish...at that price I will be all over them!!

yup....not worth it IMHO. Imagine the mods you could buy for $1000's of dollars.

Best part of having a father thats the parts manager of a toyota dealership and has been there for almost 30 years.

$874 a headlight and the Dash Heater/air controls are not priced yet but you will be able to buy it. Now this whole needing a 10 series vin is new to me but as you can tell I have the hook up

Staring at the wiring diagrams long enough i figure the two most difficult and probably expensive OEM mods to accomplish will be the Dual-Zone Climate Control System and the Keyless Entry because so many parts have to change out. I'm doing my parts with the OEM heated seats, heated mirrors, and GT86 leveling. If I had any interest in the above I would be installing those too. I would like to see to see more of us step-up...
