I commented in another thread, but I had the TSB done for the idle hunt issue that seemed to accompany hard shifting for me. So far so good. BUT I want to give this time before I make a conclusion.

See this is so frustrating. My dealership totally denies the whole thing. I've learned how to drive my car without triggering this problem. But now I can't get the full experience out of my car.

I'm going to try a few other dealerships before I call it quits and get rid of this car.

Try different dealers. The one I went to gave no fight whatsoever about doing the TSB. I went there after reproducing the idle hunt issue that accompanies it (for me) and the service guys even said "it makes it sound like it has a cam in it." BUT I also printed out the TSB for them and showed it to them. They attached it to the pre-service invoice.

The only "fix" is to immediately start in M when going on a spirited drive, OR reset the computer by restarting car at a light or stop sign. At the next service I will point out the TSB for the rev hunting and see if it does anything.

UPDATE: had the TSB done, so far so good, but I will give it a week and report back.
V_86 Has done the TSB to good effect so far, I have to wait two weeks before I'll have a chance to get it done

Idk, but does not hurt to ask. IF you have idle hunt issues they should try it I would think.

wasn't aware of this thread and it seems to describe perfectly the issues i have been having with weird idling especially putting it in park.

TSB will be a nice reason to go to the dealership to have them fill up the coolant as it they didn't last time and now it is low.

EDIT: Since this seems to only need adjusting to the TCU and from my quick read won't involve the ECU, has anyone gone in with an OFT tune still on the car or did you flash back to stock before bringing it in?

Tomorrow will be one week since I had the TSB done. Again I want more time to say anything definitive, but the TSB for idle hunting seems to have fixed my hard shifting issues as well.

I'm taking mine in this afternoon for the update and i'll update if this seems to help. I should be able to notice as soon as I get home if it is fixed or not.

I was told that my VIN was outside of the recall but I 100% have this issue(early MY15 AT). I'm wishing I had recorded it happening because knowing my luck it will not show up when I bring it to the dealership....

My understanding is that you should flash back to stock tune. However, if they check they can still tell you ran OFT. I would try a dealer that is more mod friendly.

I've been to the dealership with tune, headers, and e85 and they are fine with it. I was just wondering if they will be doing any updating to the ECU or purely the TCU as I don't want my OFT to become unmarried. I think i'm just going to leave the tune at this point since it is an hour away. I guess I can let people know if the TCU update will be safe with OFT....fingers crossed

The TSB is only to the TCM, not the ECU. Different computers. Manual FRS don't even have the wire harness on the back of the plastic engine cover, so its a separate system.

I had the TCU updated per the TSB and now my 1 -> 2 and 2 -> 3 shifts feel a lot smoother. I haven't done any testing yet in sport mode to see if it blips the throttle on downshifts again but that was honestly the least of my worries. It also doesn't have the idle dip anymore when it is put in park after driving.

I think they may have flashed the ECU as well back to the stock tune. This could definitely be placebo effect but the the exhaust note sounds different especially at 4k+ rpm which I know OFT has some changes that actually effect that and the engine is also having very slight knock correction, ~-0.29 for FLKC, at ~1500 RPM with 15-20% throttle.

You could just plug your OFT in and check...
