I've been increasingly obsessive with battling heat soak in this system.
Has anyone use an icebox inline with their stage 2 systems? I'm thinking of going this route for use on the track/autox. It would go supercharger ic outlet > heat exchanger > ice box > ic inlet (I forget where the resivour is inline and don't have my car to reference right now) It would be about 24-36" more pathway that the coolant has to travel, which could be both good and bad. Good because the more coolant, the less hot it gets. Bad because I'm not sure how the pump would handle the added pressure needed... When not at the track, I'll leave the tank empty of ice. There will be no changes to the system other than a longer travel. When at the track, fill it up with ice and water to keep that coolant cool and try and beat the heatsoak. Based on data provided by drag cars/muscle guys, this can actually bring your coolant temp so low that they've had lower than ambient temperatures achieved. It seems to be known these stage 2 kits can actually cause heat soak due to the hot coolant actually heating up the air even more. So, while the heatsoak issue is caused by air temps after being compressed by the supercharger, the low low temps of the ic should cool them down a good bit. I think I'm gonna give it a shot. Might be worth the 150 on an aluminum ice box to beat the heat soak. |

Check the thread for which is worse, overfill or under. I can't remember which is worse (I think it was overfilling). |

Probably good. Not good enough to justify the money/effort in my opinion. I don't know his numbers with or without it though, so it's all speculation.

I've thought about doing the killerchiller, but it's just so dang expensive.
OR, doing a small IC water spraying setup. |

The second option sounds much more reasonable. Hell, you could just spray methanol or rubbing alcohol and get a decent effect.

Hey guys, after listening to some of you I'm looking to change the pulley to get more HP. Once the pulley has been changed can I drive it to the tuner to get the flash program modified? Thanks!

It depends on the tune, mine is setup to run any pulley without needing a change. However under normal driving it will be fine anyway so you could drive to get it remapped without issue.
