Right now I have the MAF disconnected because it has not been tuned yet. I am getting the Ecutek tune it yourself kit and will get a base tune from my tuner to flash into it this week. So for now I'm driving it easy at no boost and the AFR is about 22.4 - pretty rich (edit lean). It drives fine and by some act of God 2nd gear engaged today. Can't wait till I can actually open her up!

Yeah you're right, brain fart... At idle it's running about 7.7 or so. Been a long day. I drove it around a circle in my neighborhood about 4x never going over 25mph or 2500 rpm.

It is possible that the main set of injectors hadn't kicked in yet - there are 2 sets on this car and I noticed when doing the coolant that the primary set didn't kick on for a good 5-8 minutes.

Thanks lol. It's a BRZ though with the fr-s front end. I think the color looks great on that bumper too. Thanks for the support!

BIG Thanks to @Sportsguy83 for helping me out today with an ECU flash and base tune from HRI Tuning. Super nice of you for driving 45 minutes each direction just to help me out. Now my car starts and runs with the MAF and 4Bar MAP sensor installed!

Tomorrow after I get my temporary tag I'll take it out on the street for a bit of fun - but not too much until I get the full tune next weekend.

So tonight I took the car out a few times since it has a base tune. My wastegate has a 0.5 bar spring in it, but at max boost my gauge is only registering 5psi. I haven't gone WOT yet, but this car does make a lot more power than the stock one even without really getting on it.

The only thing bugging me is my AFR gauge - which lead me to check the mileage reading on my dash that is generated from the factory O2's. My Innovate SC2 keeps reading 7.5 or 22.4 with very little in between. If I'm not boosting it's 7.5, if I am boosting even a tiny bit it shows 22.4

So when I look at my mileage indicator and I'm still on the throttle, but very lightly - it's showing 56-114 or so mpg. Then when I'm accelerating it's bouncing around from 35-47. To me this indicates that the factory O2s are also getting a lean readout.

As the tuner has done a few of these CX kits now, including one just a week ago - and he tuned SportsGuy's car, I'm thinking his base tune is done properly but my O2s are not getting the proper readout. I'm guessing that the bungs on the downpipe are a bit too tall and thus the sensor is not getting in contact with enough exhaust gases to get a true reading. Although it seems strange since the bung I used for the wideband is the one included in the installation kit from Innovate...

Tomorrow when the engine is cool I'm going to swap the position of my wideband and the 2nd O2 sensor to see if it makes any difference on the wideband reading since the other bung is much shorter. I'm also going to hook up my Techstream to the car and do some data logging to see what the stock O2s are registering for AFR. If worse comes to worse and my tune is off a bit, SportsGuy said he'd help me out again on Thursday night at the local meetup event.

Innovate doesn't sell an SC2. What exactly is your wideband setup? Do you have the LC-2 hooked up to an aftermarket gauge? I believe the Innovate wideband has to be properly calibrated for it to work. Did you perform the calibration prior to install? Those numbers you keep posting don't make any sense. You should be at 14.7 at idle and cruising. You should be around 13 during partial throttle, and you should be in the 11 to 12 range during WOT.

I didn't get the notification. Glad to have helped and we'll work on it tomorrow at the meet.

I think this is what the car has installed?

Probably that gauge combined with an LC-2. This is probably where he screwed up, note 0v = 7.35 A/F and 5v = 22.39 which means he is only seeing either 0 volts or 5 volts and nothing inbetween:

Quote:
The DB gauge’s WHITE wire is the signal input from the
wideband controller. The gauge is setup to work with an
analog output configuration of 0v = 7.35 A/F and 5v = 22.39 A/F.

LC-2: Connect the DB gauge’s WHITE wire to the
LC-2’s YELLOW wire.

LC-1: Connect the DB gauge’s WHITE wire to the
LC-1’s BROWN wire.

LM-2: Connect the DB gauge’s WHITE wire the LM-2’s
Lime Green Wire on the analog cable. Connect the
LM-2’s yellow wire on the analog cable to the same
ground as the gauge.

LM-1: Connect the LM-1 to the computer and launch LM
Programmer. Setup the analog output 2 and configure it
as 0v = 7.35 A/F and 5v = 22.39 A/F. Lastly click on the
“Program” button.

Connect the DB gauge’s WHITE wire to the white analog
output wire of the LM-1.

See @King Tut post above, I bet that solves it.
