Just installed the 2.5in Perrin intake. World of difference. I now feel like I'm getting the full 210hp. Actually I wouldn't even recommend the thing without the Perrin CAI. Something about the stock airbox and filter was just too restricting.
Also it sounds like a siren now when I go WOT.

I want to go with the Perrin 3" intake. But I'm already over 300hp ;D

Can anyone speculate as to how much the intercooler brings air temperature down? Anyone have any tuners to reference? Just curious if I actually need one to run the 69mm.

That having been said, is it possible (safe) to run a 72.5mm pulley with no intercooler?
Thanks guys!

I thought the IAT's that the ECU reads were measured at the MAF anyway? So probably wouldn't help unless you had installed your own sensor.
IMO, it was designed with the intercooler and only sold without to fit a price point. In Aus, I don't think you can (easily) buy it without the intercooler. Sprintex don't sell it without because it was never designed to be without.

This is all what I've heard anyway. I have intercooler for mad radiator stacking at the front of my car.

I feel like a lot of us need this info badly (specifically, charge air temps).
With the stock air box, I was at least 20F above ambient IAT. Perrin eliminates that I think. At least, that's what the butt dyno is saying. Haven't taken readings yet with the 2.5 perrin intake.

I'm not gonna burn $1500 + $350 for tune if I only need to pull 2 degrees of timing or some shit.

I assume your IAT readings are from the OEM MAF sensor, which isn't of much use? The OEM Airbox isn't a restriction for 210 power levels.

Yep, OEM MAF. Also, not saying it was restrictive. I'm saying it heatsoaked much more severely. At least that's what it feels like. Ever since I've put the new one on, the motor hasn't bogged in 80F+ ambient. I frequently see a midday average of 93F. Trust me when I say I lose at least 12ftlb at that temp with stock box.

Takes up more space. My penis is big ergo I need a small car to compensate.
