Wow! We are peeling back layers of the secret onion. That's very interesting.

Notice how our numbers match pretty well except for Stig's bank-1 intake.

I'm willing to change whatever's necessary, but this is mostly beyond me. Any advice you guys have I'll try it.

Keep clearing codes and watch to see if "vvt initial position learning value #1" changes over time. If it stays at exactly 45.52 every time you read it, then your ECU is toast.

If it rises at all, it's re-learning. Roll with it.

That's my best guess at this point.

This!
Monitor and see the rate of change of the learn values. Allegedly it's SLOW....that's what prompted me to change my ecu....again.

Well...... I haven't said anything on here as I was just driving my car daily. Not sure if it matters or not but I've been clearing the codes every time I entered my car.

Just checked the Learning VVT Values and they are basically identical. Only things that were changed were the Exhaust VVT values, and only by 0.10 or so.

What's left to do ? Lol. Change the ECU, again?! Ugh...

If the learn value or values dont change it may also be that the ecu isnt seeing correct info from cam position sensors as per pist here

I was going off the Learning values in Tech stream. You pull them when the engine is off.

Or more likely, the valve timing is correct but, because the ECU "normal" initial position drifted off over time, it's now stuck interpreting the sudden shift to correct operation as abnormal.

Being the unexperienced one here, what's the easiest way to reflash it? I've never done it before.

Me neither.

It would be great to find out otherwise but I believe if the issue could be fixed with a factory flash, basically a hard reset of the ROM, it would be the standard procedure. It's much quicker & cheaper than replacing the ECU.

This is where you have to make the choice between doing it for science, or just getting back onto the road. I respect the science-&-knowledge approach but it's your whip.

Just harassing James Martin (tuner in Florida) and he says it's mostly likely a sensor or OCV that's bad. He says its a PID system, so it has a learned value.

He's recommending to just swap sensors and/or OCVs. Pull the battery, wait a few minutes to reset it.
