BRZ First Drive in June Motor Trend
Just got my June issue of Motor Trend and they have a write up on the BRZ Limited 6MT.
Good numbers for the numbers group...0-60 in 6.4 seconds. 1/4 mile in 14.9 @ 95.5 mph. This is just about what my 1989 Porsche 911 clocks at and in its time was considered one of the fasters and quickest cars. I still think my 911 is quick and fast and so enjoyable to drive, so I'm looking forward my BRZ. They really like it. I think we will see the American magazines giving the BRZ more appreciation than the European press. Sorry I can't scan and post the test.

So I have a reason to actually pick up a Motor Trend magazine again? I must be 15 years old again!

Pretty much. Automobile is the only U.S. car magazine I bother to read these days, apart from the tuner mags like D Sport and Modified.

I've only read Motor Trend in the past few years because I managed to pick up a free subscription. Otherwise, that magazine is crap.

Better than the GT-R huh? Let's see the numbers, all handling, and let's see how it translates on a closed track times. I don't doubt for one minute the car's chassis is over built, and with a proper set of tires alone it'll handle a lot better. But, they gave one of the two vital mechanical aspects to be a real sports car. Perhaps as soon as next year we could call the car a real sports car, as I'm sure that they actually have a FI version of this car ready to roll as is. We know this motor is going into the next WRX, which means there's a built turbo model of this engine already there.

I doubt a turbo version is coming soon if ever...if it does itll be $30k plus and still slow since itll move up a price bracket.
