I honestly don't feel sped up or anything like that, just nice and focused and like I can actually do things and that I'm not a lazy piece of shit who isn't worth their time spent sleeping. And also like I can do what my research requires.
You're right, and you're right. In reality a proper dosage to a person with the right brain chemistry is very proper and works in a positive, not doping kind of way. Some people do abuse it though.

People abuse everything. Even water. If there is a way to use something wrong people will find it.

It's so bad here (college town) that a dctor told me I would greatly benefit from it, but that it was abused so much here that he refused to write anyone a script for it.

needless to say, I changed doctors, but yeah, its pretty prominent. Probably as prominent as pain killer abuse.

Dunno what y'alls experience is, but pain killer abuse is sneaky. People with real problems with pain killers who are professionals seem to mask it better than most other types of users, and I think that's why it can get nasty quick.

It's all relative. The average family income in the US in 1965 was $6,900 as opposed to $53,657 in 2015 (SOURCE: US Census data)

The median home price in 1965 was $20,000 and in 2015 it was 295,000 (more or less)

The ratio has definitely increased from about 2.9x salary to 5.5x salary but so has the size and "quality" of the homes as well as the willingness of people to take out more debt to cover "what they want" versus "what they need".

Just from 1974 to 2015 the average new construction house size has grown from 1,660 sqft to 2,372sqft.

Basically, its like cars. Some of the cost difference between a 60's car and a 2016 car is inflation, some of it is feature/regulation bloat, and some of it is willingness to finance "what I want" bloat.

^ I was just reading an article on inventive ways inmates will get high/buzzed, from making their own alcohol to smoking and snorting various things.

Yeah the trouble with pain killers is it hurts not to use them.

Honestly, if you realyl have a thing for asian women, It work, and cars, look into an Atlanta suburb. It can be cheap and nice in the right place, emissions regulations are zero if you live far enough from Atlanta, and there is a lot of diversity.

We also have a lot of real street racing. Not your friday night honda boys, but your unload-that-bitch-off-the-trailer-now-its-a-street-car kinda folks. Aint for me, though.
I'll keep Georgia in mind. Who knows whats in store honestly. Maybe I'll do a "round the US" kinda roadtrip...

That would be too weird if we now work for the same company... That sounds very familiar... There's been lots of visiting this year from the Bellevue office, and lots of drinking

Oddly enough I now work for the same company as a guy from here in Chicago as well. Is Chicago taking over the world?

There are ways. I still seem to need something to not wake up unable to move my back, but I no longer have to worry much day to day about pain. It took a daily yoga practice, and I suspect carving more time every day will improve things further. Pain killers only treat the symptoms - sometimes that's all you can do, but I hope to get another 71 years out of this body...
