LOOOL! It looks like that guy ate amphetamine cereal for breakfast, right before he made that video. But it's pretty ingenious, nonetheless.

I installed the pulleys this weekend. They are officially the first mod I've done to the car that I wish I hadn't done. Didn't notice a damn difference at all. lol:

People notice when adding up to these also other lightening rotational mass mods. Lighter driveshaft, lighter wheels/tyres/lighter aftermarket brakes. As for JUST pulleys, it might indeed be below butt-dyno detecting margin, but imho nevertheless slightly improving performance.

That doesn't even make sense. They felt a difference because they did the other stuff. The pulleys do nothing. I have lighter wheels, tires, and some brake components. The pulleys are a placebo.

A installation video I watched on YouTube mentioned that the o-ring/gasket from the stock pulley would need to be transferred to the aftermarket one. Any input about that?

EDIT: Nevermind

Love how that video doesn't address how to re-assemble with the equal torque going in the other direction ...

Help!

The heavy metal piece with the little knob that goes into the pulley came out with the OEM pulley. I tried to put it back in but it won't go flush. Any suggestions?

Never mind

After about 3 hours, I finally was able to get the notch to line up. As a warning to others, when you take the OEM pulley off, do it slowly and don't let this piece come out with it. Your life will be so much easier. I had no problem getting that bolt off like others did and thought that this was going to be a piece of cake. Boy was I wrong.

The issue you faced is mentioned in this very thread and is a sticky at the top of this forum...

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26386

It's very easy to avoid: All you do is get that bolt loose but not all the way out, hold it in place with your thumbs, and slide the pulley off onto it. Your thumbs applying pressure to the bolt will keep the little mount doohickey in place in the engine. Then, one hand hold the pulley; other hand unscrew the bolt, lift straight up and you're done. Then, install new pulley. Piece of cake.

I wish this info was included in this thread. I read every single comment on this thread and saw no mention of it. Maybe the original post should include this info. Just saying. More people discussed how hard it was to get the bolt off which was no problem for me.

Just installed a Kartboy Crank Pulley I had lying around. Install itself was a breeze, crankshaft pulley spacer moved out a little bit but I just pushed it back in it sat properly. No wobbles or oil leaks after a 20 minute test drive.

However, I dropped the damn o-ring that sits in front of the spacer and dropped it on top of the header and slid down between the header and the engine.... had to removed the header to retrieve the damn o-ring.

I don't know if this is much use or even a wise thing to do but i thought ill post it anyway.
Did anyone try this approach on their car ?
