I went with a Kenwood DNX6990HD. It performs extremely well and actually has much better audio quality than the stock unit (properly set as FR-S). I just popped the usb connections out and pulled the kenwood cables through that space.

I was extremely lucky to get mine brand new from eBay. Maybe ask a kenwood dealer if they can order one in.

Nope, you're right

If you want an aftermarket stereo to fill in the gap. Audiovox has a second line called Advent. They do OEM-Style aftermarket stereos, just google them.

For those asking for an Android 4.0 Unit, what about this one?

I wonder if that is a full native android system? or if Android is being emulated on top of another OS? The reason i ask is because this image seems to suggest you have to push a button to launch the android side of things.

I think that is just a Launcher, I doubt Android is emulated (though anything is possible, it wouldn't make sense to go through the trouble)
