1) Has anyone used to the included stencil and sprayed the logo onto the intercooler?
If so, do you have any pictures? Also - what did you use to spray it?

2) Has anyone powdercoated their intercooler/intake piping? I'm thinking of having mine done red to match my intake manifold, but wanted to see how the coating is holding up.

Thanks!

Although I used an STI logo. No problems at all.

PS: ceramic coating your headers helps a lot with heat issues btw.

Thanks!

My Catted UEL Header is already Ceramic Coated, so I'm good to go there, and I'll be running the JR Oil Cooler.

Trying to get your pictures to load, but having some issues, hopefully they will pop up soon.

That is nice but why not carry the Jackson Racing logo? STI has nothing to do with this kit. Why give credit to STI for something that was so much demanded and they didn't deliver? Jackson Racing did.

Good point! To be honest I never thought of it that way. For me how a car looks and feels has little to do with giving credit to brands or manufacturers. The STI logo just so happens to be a good logo and by the amount of people using it, has more mass appeal than Jackson Racing logo. Which, in my opinion, is kind of boring, like perrin logo is, btw. You buy the JRSC for the SC kit...not for the logo I guess. I wanted to put the STI logo on the car anyway, but I felt It would be lame to do it without the car having more guts. So when I went FI I thought putting the STI logo was some sort of rite of passage for the car. It is also a statement in the sense that, well, STI did not want us to have an STI car... now it is in your face - thanks to other third party manufacturers, this is.

That is not to say that I deny JR or perrin credit where credit is due. I have a perrin exhaust. JR has their brand sticked in the hose that goes from the sc to the intercooler anyway and I think that looks really cool. I also liked that they offer their paper cut logo as an option and they do not force you to show it no matter what (like the vortech kit, which savagegeese decided to logo-delete it, indeed). So, as far as I understand, JR offers the logo as an option. That's cool with me and I guess It is cool with them.

If someone asks me what is under the hood, I won't tell them it is an STI prerp sc...obviously. But I will comment on my experience with the kit and some install issues. As the clamps coming loose or not being able to tighten well (I had to replace almost all the clamps that came with the JRSC kit, but that might have been a bad batch).

Now, as why give credit to STI. I understand some could see it that way. Personally, I like how the logo looks on the black intercooler and that's it. I am not pretending nor acknowledging STI did something for the car... I guess it's similar to some people putting brembo stickers on their non-brembo calipers. More often than not I think this is not made to show off but because brembo has a good looking logo and it just looks good. I would not do that with calipers if they are not the real thing, but I can understand why people do it. But your comment made me see that other side effect to it with the intercooler. It's just something I did not consider at the time.

In any case, here in México I am the only black 2016 brz that was sold and there are almost no brz in the streets whatsoever. In my town (6 million people) there are only four more brz owners that I know of. One with an HKS v2 SC, another drift preped and stanced with a mishimoto oil cooler and the other two are stock. So It really does not make much of a difference what logo do you stamp on your intercooler. People that know will know and others just do not give a damm unless you drive a mustang, a challenger or an M2. There is a little jdm scene but mostly for hondas.

Best!

The clamps are not like worm clamps. Many people try to tighten them like they are and over tighten them and damage the clamp. This is what it sounds like happened to you.

It did Probably. Nevertheless I felt more safe double clamping some hoses. I Know it might not have any real effect but it just gives me some peace of mind.

Was gonna wait for someone more knowledgable to reply but it sounds ok to me. Just sounds like a centrifugal supercharger at idle. They are kind of loud always thought it was hilarious that Rotrex claims "silent" operation.

What's the reasoning? If it's solely because of dirt and debris then I purchased this. Hope it helps

I have replaced with AEM 21-2036DK dryflow. It is exactly same size with the factory K&N
