starkiller you still have that video of your exhaust? would still like to hear it.

still set on the quad tip exhaust for my frs/86 myself (and an ace header, as general consensus is thats its the closest to the mechanical sound of the 4age).

besides the trd japan quad tip (high response muffler version r) im sure everyone else has seen, i saw someone post on an 86 group on fb that blitz has a quad tip (the nur spec cti). ran a quick search for it on google and it runs for about $1500 compared to the trd ($1300) thoughts? trd or blitz? (please do tell, if you've found these somewhere for cheaper lol) only thing about the blitz, call me a traditionalist but i don't know about those blue tips, prefer the standard chrome/silver

I'm going to resurrect this post cause it really resonates with me. I've been a fan of the original 86 for quite some time now but would probably never try to own one as they cost too much for what is a really old car which would require a lot of work and maintenance to own one reliably and comfortably.

So the next best thing is to make my 86 as close to an ae86 as possible, and a big part of that is the exhaust note. I want the same as what the op wanted.

I'm currently running HKS EL catless headers with a Perrin catback but its note is more deep and bassy as opposed to revvy, peppery, and honda-like.

Looking at what ACE offered is pretty much what I want. Now what is the rest of the exhaust set up? does it matter? cause I don't want it too loud either and different catbacks produce different sounds right?

What would be a good catback for my wants? Invidia q300? Perrin?

I'm finding it interesting that headers can have such an impact on the way a car sounds. I thought all headers sounded the same except for if they are EL or UEL but it seems like this isn't the case?

Thanks for reading, any help or insight would be much appreciated.
