I used to be a pretty good driver, but I have been out of the game for a while. I hope I don't breach the relearning curve and scratch my new buddy.

This Hellcat thing, nope. I wouldn't even try to drive that under power. I know I'd tree in in ten minutes.

Driving 707 HP car in near freezing weather on summer rubber.

Driver charged with careless driving.

I doubt he was babying it down that road. The skid marks are telltale. Sadly, if he was driving a lower powered car this probably wouldn't have happened. He should have known the risks of that car especially without the proper tires. Too many incidents like this and it will be impossible to insure this type of vehicle.

It says it wiped out after a rise immediately followed by a turn. That's driver error. You come over a rise, unload the suspension right before a corner? Never going to work at any appreciable speed even in a less powerful car. Physics gave this guy some act right and the car paid for it.

So now that we have the lay-out of the road taken and the tiremarks.

Lets all play the "What do I think happened" game.

*The 2nd picture should have been posted first*

from what I see* just after the crest of that "hill", the hellcat starting to drift to the *Left toward the double line. He then overcorrected and Then* it went to the right where he over corrected again and ended up on the other side of the road.

pictures show exactly what I said.....too much power for a under experienced driver...if you don't need it, don't know how to use it/properly handle it then you do not need to buy it.

They make a Hell Cat, SRT8, RT, and a V6 for a reason. When buying a vehicle like this you should be tested to see if you can safely handle the power and that should dictate what power option you are allowed to buy IMO...

If you can not handle the card, and you are a moron no hell cat for you...

Many more reports like this and I am most certainly going to have to go trade mine in before (like stated above) you can not buy them or insure them anymore.

Sad to see it happened, but truth to be told driver's ed is lacking in us. Unlike most European country or even Canada, there is almost no driver's ed in us. Probably cuz we came up with insurance first so we forgot everything else that's important. Hah

It doesn't take power to crash. Power just makes it easier. I don't like the Challenger myself. Too fat. The Charger Hellcat, however, sounds like a nice family car.
