Not everyone may be aware, but the 64 1/2 was built on a Fairlane frame while the 65 was on a Falcon frame. The 64 1/2 is MUCH more valuable today because it is much rarer.

Breathing a sigh of relief over here. I would never buy without research but that makes sense. Just seems like 25K was pretty steep for an old tractor.

For a new Porsche Cayman, the premiums are a little higher for most of the parts but the collision on the FR-S is WAYYY higher. Do FR-S owners crash into other people all the time while doriftoing on the street or something? Is the BRZ any better lol...

Well, at least it's not as bad as the S2000. I considered buying one and then I got an insurance quote, no comprehensive and already nearly as expensive as the FRS lol. I didn't want to know how much they would f*** me over for full coverage so I didn't check.

Hahahha no dude, I'm a horrible haggler, but these guys really wanted to get rid of this car so I had the edge. All you have to do is think about what you don't like about the car, and keep saying "I'll need to think about it".

I wonder how it compares to one of the new muscle cars? IMHO, those are the dangerous ones.

Yep.
Another thing people don't seem to get was that for the first few years at least it was meant to be a small, cheap throwaway car intended to fight the rising tide of imports coming in and was built accordingly.
My mom had three 64 1/2s over the years all were 6s. Two hard tops and the convert that my sister bought off her. Both the hard tops rotted to the windows and were scrapped (none were new when she got them)
The convert was rotted bad but my sister "restored" it. She spent a bundle on bodywork and interior but never did anything under the car or too the engine. She drove it for about 2 years and then the engine started to throw oil and she decided too sell it. Even though she had some good offers she was holding out for $20K (it wasn't worth that back then) and refused to budge. It then sat beside the house for years a until the whole rear frame from the dif to the bumper was completely gone (I don't mean bad I mean missing). Car looked great needed but massive work. I sold it for her awhile back for $5K.

I also priced new Camaro 2LTs and it was about $100 a year more than the FRS. I am sure the higher levels would have been much more though.

Psst... It already has one...

In all seriousness, talk to CSG Mike. There are a number of different clutch type LSDs out there, and he'll probably be best able to suggest one that's right for you.

So guys and gals, good news!

Barring anything that could happen (Murphy's Law), looks like I'll be picking the car up this weekend!

Emailed the dealer saying I'm interested. Hopefully, no one buys it within the next 5 days and they hold it.

Else, I'll go pick up the Hot Lava I spotted for 1.5k off MSRP.

Go Lava or stay at home!
You would make a fine addition to Team Lava.
Oh and the ladies looooove the colour by the way.
