Boost? Assuming you put in a turbo, how do you turn it on and off? Or am i just reading this wrong.

I converted my L/100km to mpg, during my freeway week I had 29 mpg, while more city driving I had 25 mpg.

I have been averaging 31.5-32.5 with a 30% city and 70% highway. I got 36.5 on my last road trip and 40.0 once with a big tail wind.

You get 28 mpg in a WRX? What year? How? I never saw above 24 mpg on mine.

But to contribute to this thread, I'm averaging 30 mpg over 3500 miles. Never seen below 28 mpg on a tank, and the mpg readings from the car indicate 30.7 mpg so that seems to be correct (I calculate my mpg with the aCar app). And this is mostly freeway, going above 5k often (on/off ramps, backroads, etc.)

The car is all stock but well-maintained. My fiancee doesn't understand the concept of "off boost" so she gets around 21-22 MPG average, lol.

For the BRZ, Pre-turbo I was seeing MPG on the highway as high as 35 MPG!
Be sure to let us know post turbo MPG in a few weeks. Haha

Haha that's what I thought, but I have never had a turbo car so pardon my ignorance but do you purposefully drive in the higher RPM range to stay in boost and shift sooner to stay out of boost, or just drive like normal?

Maybe I should start doing fuelly. I'm doing the math myself as well as relying on the car's computer using the current mpg + the average mpg section of the cluster. Last time I filled up, it was at 200 miles on the odo. I just filled up and it at 260 miles I believe(filed up $15 the first time which is about 3-4 gallons with gas at ~4.5 each gallon ). So 60 miles/3 or 4 gallons is about 15-20 mpg. Maybe it's just the up and down hills of SF that's killing my mpg :/

Basically to keep the mileage higher, you can try to keep the RPM's down intentionally to stay out of boost. And yes shifting earlier can help stay out of boost as well.

For this kit, it is a little hard to stay out of boost I feel because the turbo spools so quickly.

@finch1750 Current turbo MPG is in my post above but I'm more than happy to post a further update after WORKS is done with the tune
Yeah, that's more what I was hoping for. Final tune after the breaking (and then heavier than usual foot I would have if it were me). haha

A tiny triangle denotes the optimum time to upshift. It's already preset by the factory.

It's the same process for setting the RPM shift indicator except with the button above it (can't recall off the top of my head).

Except it's just a toggle on or off. You also get the option of it displaying which gear you're in too.
