Time to add a diffuser to your shopping list, since the OEM suitcase one is gone.
Oh cool! I got the 2.5" inlet with 5" mufflers. Curious what the difference would be with a stock header setup to your WRX, though. I thought I'd heard the 2017's may be slighter more equal length (no source on that though) so it may have even less burbling type noise.

I was actually originally planning on getting the Corsa catback but last minute decided on this, haha.

I thought the OEM one still exists for the '17 BRZ and just not the '17 86?

Awesome! Any particular reason you're switching? Thought you liked your current setup? Or just noise level?

This'll be my first axleback so I'm pretty excited!

The Blitz dual I had on the car was interfering with the new rear sway-bar mount. So I couldn't use it anymore

I put the old custom exhaust back on that I have. But, it is ugly and doesn't fit that great.

Sooo, I am testing out yet another exhaust setup haha.

Ahh interesting. Will you be putting out a video about this one? Hopefully you won't need to wait to long to receive it; I ordered direct from Nameless and shipping only took 2 days. Not too shabby.

Yep for sure. Going to weigh it against my custom system and the stock system, then see how it sounds. Few weeks out though, have some other videos queue'd up.

I had a KillerB EL header on the WRX. None of that silly UEL mess for me. You should have a nice tone, maybe a pop during shifts, but hopefully minimal to no drone.

The Corsa is nice, the no-drone tech really works. Pleasantly loud at WOT, but won't get you tickets. No significant weight saving, if that interests you.

I was referring to the stock muffler acting as a diffuser. Since the nameless is like stainless pasta noodle, you now have an excuse to add a diffuser.

So today with help from @overlookedx, who did the majority of the install, I finally replaced the stock muffler and whatnot with the Nameless axleback:

For the most part, I'm very much enjoying it so far. It's definitely louder than stock, but I wouldn't say it's obnoxiously loud. The tone seems to have a deep, bass note to it.

It also pops a bit in 1st and going into 2nd gear, which is enjoyable (not like gun fire kind of pops, but just nice ones). I have it on good authority that it sounds nice in a long tunnel .

Definitely noticeably louder than stock and I'd say the tone is very different.

One thing I have noticed is that there's a bit of drone..or, at least I think it's drone; it could just be simply a different exhaust sound/tone than I'm used to (stock was the only one I've ever had and this is my first car). I'll have to see how things go as I break in the axleback, which could take a couple weeks, maybe? It's not intolerable, but it's more noticeable than I thought it would be. From what other users say it's not too noticeable or loud compared to the really drone-y exhausts, so it could just be a matter of me not being used to the sound.

Will update the thread a bit later on with impressions after a month or so of solid use.

Oh gotcha, haha. (how could you take away the signature rumble?! I kid, I kid)

Yeah, definitely useful to know. Going to see how this goes for now.

Oooh my bad, I see what you mean, hahaha, fair enough. Definitely might have to! I like the Verus Engineering one, but don't like the idea of paying like.. $400 or something for it. Maybe a rep will be fine, lol.

At least the 86 followers are more accepting of EL.

Yeah the Verus one is a tad expensive, but at least you are paying for a well designed, thought out piece.

Did you reuse the stock exhaust bushings?

Installed Drambeenie's 2017 spoiler risers. They look nearly OEM and are pretty high quality.

Oops never replied to this! For now I reused the stock bushings, but I did buy 4 of the replacement ones from Nameless, so I'll just need to swap them eventually.

Got myself and the BRZ a first anniversary/birthday gift!

Registered for a Hooked on Driving HPDE event! After talking with @overlookedx about track days and 86challenge here in Northern California, and reading @PandaBRZ's blog on his experience, I decided I should try it out!

It's a bit expensive but it sounds like it should be a great time.

I've been meaning to do something like this for a while and never got past some rudimentary research...look forward to reading about your experience with this program.
