Sony as always LOVE the write up! And as another person said I have a OCD about having one MFG part and I completely agree with everything perrin has put out, and has the R&D to back it up
Again awesome write up and I can NOT wait for my intake and tube to come in!

Sony does great reviews. Very detailed, and really has me thinking about changing CAI's because I know how hot it gets here where I live. I've always been a fan of true CAI's, whether they go low or they pull air straight from the cool source. I see my aFe getting really hot under the hood while idle during the summer. That's my only concern. I know the molding is heat resistant, but the Perrin isn't even in the hood.
I wish Perrin would make a Darker blue version of the tube to match the colors but that would be a pain to make one for each car color. Black looks really slick. |

So what happens when you need to clean/replace the filter on this setup? Do you have to pull the bumper every time? Sounds no bueno.

You will only have to clean the filter once a year and i have installed this CAI. Honestly after you have taken the bumper off once it is easy. I bet i can remove and replace this bumper faster then rotating the tires.

Quote:
As for replacing the filter, you can easily remove it through the top gap in the bumper without removing the bumper. You just need to get a screwdriver in there to loosen the clamp and it will just slide off and squeeze through the gap, it's foam so it squeezes easily. Honestly though, I though removing the bumper was going to be a chore, but once I did it I realized how easy it really is once you know exactly what you are doing. EDIT: I just realized, no you can't do the initial install without taking the bumper off because there is no way to adjust the black plastic air dam with the bumper still attached.
