RCE Tarmac 2 adjustment recommendations
Howdy friends. I purchased an STX autocross car a few weeks ago that has RCE T2s on it. It's got a 20mm whiteline front bar, and I'm not sure what the rear bar is, but it's black and has 3 holes of adjustment and is set on soft. Need to dig into it further to figure out what it is.
Anyways, I'm getting the car aligned and corner balanced later this week. Any recommendations on where to set the dampers for autocross? I like a car that turns in sharp and rotates decently on corner entry, and is neutral to ever so slightly loose on throttle. We autocrossed it the morning after getting home at midnight after picking it up, and it pushed like a dump truck on throttle. Finally checked the damper settings today, they were at FR: 5, FB: 2, RR: 7, RB: 0. That probably explains the push haha. Any recommendations for a starting point on bump and rebound settings would be much appreciated. |

I've had good luck with
Rebound (from full stiff) - 10(F), 13(R) Comp (from full stiff) - 11(F), 8(R) Depending on surface I may add a little more compression rear, but this did me well at Crows Landing (concrete) as well asphalt. This is all with the same front bar and stock rear. The rear bar is probably Mann Engineering. |

This might be helpful when it comes to damper adjustments.

Stock springs? Any idea what the alignment is? Hopefully in the ballpark.
I don't run T2's but RCE has been amazing to work with even though I purchased a second hand set of their coilovers. They have published their recommended starting settings: http://racecompengineering.com/instr...ingsbrzfrs.pdf

Completely missed this...I was kinda sick last week and not on the forums too much.
Feel free to PM me if you need any extra tips for your specific set up. - Andrew |
