The M4 is my dream, and i always pondered about the z4, how is the drive?

& mate no worries, i hope i didnt come off aggressive and if so i apologize .

not gonna lie, the most i test drive cars, the more appealing that idea of just buying another frs sounds.

haha i do agree, i dont like the front of the lexus, but the back of the rc350 looks nice and aggressive.
I havent had the opportunity to drive one because they are so rare. I guess they only made 2000 Z4 M Coupes which makes finding one very hard.. I always wondered why ive never seen one on the road where I live. You can find some nice low mileage ones for around $30K but they only made them in 07/08 so they are older and few and far inbetween. I'd have to drive all the way to California just to look at one lol Someday when I have more disposable income I will track one down and buy it.

i should mention, price point for the lease should be well under $500, including tax. im open to buying a car as well
Wow the options being thrown out here have come a long way from the original requirements!
Want to know where to pick up half the cars mentioned for "well under $500 a month including tax". I would be into some of these in a heartbeat.

It's all possible well assuming the dealer lets you due a 50 year lease.

RC350 oh no

Sorry for the advice on the Lexus. I never test drove one. Thanks for the heads up.

Do you see what the FRS has done to us! There aren't alternatives with RWD that gets the sports car right. When I was younger there were these British Cars like the MG and Triumph that my older friends had when I was too young to drive them. But I was taken for rides many times and always understood the concept of a lightweight sports car. These guys were having so much fun driving.

If you don't live in the snow belt, RWD rules the road. AWD doesn't have the feel that RWD has and some AWD cars are based on FWD first and then have AWD added. So the engine is pointed sideways compared to a RWD car.

IMHO the FRS is one of the best pure sports cars to come out of Japan ever. If you look at the car scene in Japan, most every motor head has one or is going to get one.

How many of you can say that you can get rid of your Twin tomorrow without regretting it? Good luck to the OP in finding the holy grail. There is a better car... the car companies just have to design it first.

.
There is nothing wrong with RWD cars in the snow! Do people truly believe we used nothing but sleds and 4x4s until the 80s when FWD and AWD became a thing? RWD is every bit as easy to drive in the snow as FWD. It is just different not worse.

Putting my 2 cents in. I think I'll be getting an E46 or E92 M3 in two years once the lease on FR-S runs out and I would want to buy that BMW. They've been growing on me lately, plus in 2 years I'd be able to find a used E92 M3 for a reasonable $30-35k. I know that OP is looking for a car right now and if I had to buy a car right now that I think would be an upgrade I would go with E46 M3...

That's why I got the roadster. You can find them under $25k all day long. Plus I love driving top down so.

Solid choices. Only thing that scares me on the BMW's is the costly maintenance. But then again, which used car doesn't come with that burden.

For an experienced, driver - I'd say you're right.
But there's no denying that a larger number of morons crash their rwd would've been better off in a fwd or an awd.

The awd-ness of a car doesn't save your life (If you drive like a moron, you're gonna die regardless), but it's a start.

Back when that was all there was people didn't think twice about it. All that AWD and FWD do for you is make it marginally less likely to get stuck. With the right tires RWD can do everything the others can. Still maintain they are no more difficult to drive then any other, experienced driver or not. RWD has just developed this mystic over the last 20 years so people believe they are harder to drive (and let's face it a lot of people want others to believe that because it makes them "cool" to have one).

ha ha, so true. i do agree that the brz raised the bar. it makes a lot of other car, regularly hailed as sports cars, seem kind of blah. and though i liked the a4, i decided not to pull the trigger for just the reason you raised: i know i would regret it
