I am hoping someone can assist me in figuring out this DIY, I realize it should be easy, but something just isn't clicking in my head for some reason. My questions that I have, which I hope will cause me to get past this mental block are:

1) in the Supertone install directions, which wiring diagram am I using if I have removed the OEM horns?
2) Which wire(s) of the OEM wiring will I splice into or can I cannibalize the connector from the OEM horns? If I need to go back to stock for some reason, I will just buy new horns.

Thanks in advance!

Blowing fuses.

When I am installing the hella tones, I keep blowing fuses. What am I doing wrong? Is it a grounding problem? Can I upgrade the fuses? What's a simple solution. We are plugging the ground into 85, battery into 30, stock horns 86 and Hellas are going into 87. Ive tried taking power from both horns but stock horn is still coming out.

Has anyone added aftermarket horns to the OEM setup? I'm looking for as much volume as possible and am hoping to retain the OEM horns. Or will this draw too much power from the battery? I know very little about electronics and wiring, so the more detail the better.
Thanks!

I had both the Hella Supertones and the stock OEM horn installed (switched) for a month or so. They were switched such that when the switch was on both horns would go off with the horn button, with the switch off only the OEM horn would go off. I'm not sure what the OEM horn draws but I think the Supertones draw 6A each which by themselves is fine for the 7.5A fuses.

If your horn will draw close to or more than 7.5A just hook them up with a relay

I did my Sharptone install today.

Ran a spade from the factory trigger wire with a split, and grounded to the low pitched horns mounting location with a split. Heat shrinked everything, and made a 6" ish long bracket with three holes that I suspended from the factory high pitched horn mounting location.

Had the grills powdercoated white

Just picked up a pair of sharp tones. Does anyone know if they are the same amperage?

Also, I'm not a big fan on splicing into stock wires so does anyone know a way to install without doing this?

Cheers

if you want to spend some extra money, look at this wiring harness:

I don't understand. The factory connector( 2 pin) consists of one ground wire and one power wire. So why do we need to add a ground wire to each?
