RDS (Radio Data Services)

When I tune to a local station that is not HD, say 102.1 the edge here in Toronto, why don't I get to see the station name, song, artist etc.? This has worked on every other car I've had like Audi, Infiniti, BMW.

I did find a local HD station and that did display the info (kind of miserly to have to press TEXT button and pick which combo you want to see instead of scrolling, but it works). Did they cheap out somewhere? HD radio is not very popular here.
