I've only gotten it for a day, and since I was rushing to get to work, I didn't take picks once I parked it. I park in a multi level garage, and I parked on the roof floor today (6 floors) and was happy to find that I was still alone on the return trip to drive home. Like I said I don't think you all really want to indulge in all the sinful things I'll do with this car, but I'm going to be lurking here still until the next gen appears and I'll join in all the fun again. If at any point you all want to see more pics, I'll be happy to shoot some. I'm looking to get some TE37s for it, and I'm going to drive the car some before I decide to mess with the suspensions if at all. As of right now, I really like the stock handling feel. A lot better than when I test drove it. I still think the BRZ provided more confidence even with limited seat time.

Also, just to show you all how much of a nut I am about this car. Here's my 1/10 scale RC body I picked up a long time ago as my backup body to my RC car.

https://imgur.com/HB5aI7w

This is what's currently on my RC.

https://imgur.com/dVUBVWz

I freaking love this car man. Also orange is my favorite color, and you can only imagine how badly I wanted my car to look like this.

https://imgur.com/oMIoo2s

I have the paint to do it, just have never gotten around to it.

https://imgur.com/VVKnyoV

Hands down, that orange has been the best orange on any car ever. The AE30 MX-5 is coming out in orange too, but it does not TOUCH the FRS orange from launch. I'm sad that I'll never own this car. This would have been the color I purchase if I would have bought one in 2012.

Assumption? You said as much in your opening post. Whether you realize it or not you went into the test drive prepared for the "dip" to be an issue and low and behold you felt it was.
Glad you got what you really wanted.

Oh and on the subject of not thinking this tread would blow up a it has. Have you not read anything in the 8 years you have been here? The title of this thread alone invites comments.

Well, good on ya, there, @KAuss -

I hope you enjoy your roadster as much as we did ours.

Now, I suggest you take it out there and see the country -

So with this you have to read the part where I blame the bad press. The press scared me away from the car but my test drive was better (underselling it) than my expectations due to these reviews.

However, during that drive I did confirm that the reviews were consistent. Now is it as bad as it is made out to be? No. I clearly stated that. All I'm saying is that it isn't unfounded and a feel that to me was less enjoyable in an a to b comparison.

Honestly, there are people here that said if I owned this car I would hate and complain about it after. I'm just here to say you all have no idea how much I love these cars. The issue I mentioned kept me from buying it, but after the drive, it took a lot of people to finally make me value my choice better.

In other words, I was expecting the MX-5 to be a world beater day and night clear winner in driving feel based on reviews. It isn't. I was expecting the twins to be slow and clunky from reviews, it isn't.

I respect everyone's input to finally get me over the hump. I'm just happy I have a true sports car now, and I would love to be the odd ball guy in a MX-5 at a Ft86 / brz meet lol.

Mine was used and abused, 2nd best car I have ever owned, the best is my current 86.

Strangely both couldn't pull the skin of custard. Both run about 350hp short of what I would call fast.

Just goes to show its not the dog in the fight.

If you drive it properly, there is no torque dip.

Yep, my old NC Miata might not have been "fast", but it carried me to the top of Pikes Peak, although I came in 2nd. My buddy from Canada came in first - why? - because his co-pilot was younger and had "no fear".
