Here's my schedule so far:

4/20 RMP with T2

5/4-5 ORP with HOD (tentative)

5/12 RMP with TSS

5/25 RMP with T2

6/8 - 6/9 Thunderhill with HOD (tentative)

6/15 RMP with T2

6/23 RMP with TSS

7/7 RMP with TSS (tentative)

7/20 RMP with T2

9/1 RMP with TSS (tentative)

9/14-15 Thunderhill with HOD (tentative). If no THill, then 9/14 RMP with T2.

I want to do PIR and Area27, but PIR never has weekend events with enough track time to make it worth the trip. And Area 27 is just realllllly far away.

If you want to run at Thunderhill consider hitting up Norcal 86 Challenge. They run with SpeedSF. I want to say it was right around 200 for the day when I went down and ran with them, transponder is no charge. PIR is really not that great of a track for our cars. The two long straights leave the higher HP cars thinking they are faster then you when you are pulling on them and they are slowing you down coming onto the straight. Very frustrating. HOD will run ORP clockwise Saturday and counter clockwise on Sunday. Just an FYI. It's a fun track regardless of what direction. I liked counter clockwise more as it has some fun blind downhill off camber corners and you go down Valkyrie instead of up which is a bit easier on our cars.

Thanks. Good to know I can scratch PIR off my list.

Only reason I'm looking at HOD for Thunderhill is the two-day weekend event. SpeedSF doesn't have any weekend THill events that fit my schedule. Definitely want to do ORP; I've heard good things.

Ahh, that makes sense. If you run with an HOD and are not solo qualified with them they make you run the bottom novice group. It's not bad and the instructors are cool, one of them is on these boards and has a white twin. If you run a two day you would likely get solo qualified on the first day and could probably run solo on your second. ORP is my favorite track in the NW. The ridge is good but ORP is so fun and technical.

Driving PIR is like trying to pass someone on the freeway that doesn't want to let you by and speeds up when you get next to them. It is just so frustrating.

So I was looking at the HOD page for ORP. I thought "man, that track looks pretty similar to COTA. This could be fun.

....wait a second..."

True story, especially for lapping groups. PIR w/ Chicane (imho) is much better than w/o chicane too.

The value of PIR is part of the simplicity of the track - it favors entry speed. The other benefit is the that it's close by (relatively) and the facilities are good and there's some track perspective for your spectators. PR/Ridge are not all that spectator friendly.

I love The Ridge but the track design suggests that spectator enjoyment was given zero consideration. A sky-bridge to a spectator section up top would be terrific! But now I'm digressing...

I have a friend who runs with BSCC and their is a bunch of twins in that group from what I have heard. I plan on doing a few events with them this year. They are in your area, just an FYI.

Yeah, coming into the last section off the back straight really seems to seperate the men from the boys.

Via facebook the ridge has a lot of upgrades planned. It would be nice if they had a spectator bridge to get to the upper part of the track. May be worth mentioning. Of course the last thing I brought up with them and they seemed for, was met with no communication after
