You cannot de-badge or re-badge in CS.

That's 13.2A, and I would consider the badges to fall under appearance items (I'm assuming they weigh about a pound, but we could always wait to protest later in the season if the points are close )

If you can't debadge the rule should be revised.

Who would actually protest a debadge? Let's all come back to earth here.

You never know man. Although I can't speak from experience, I'm pretty sure crazier things have been protested at national events.

Someone. I met a guy with a Fiat 500 at an event who was running in SM because someone protested his fake hood scoop.

At a local? That's obnoxious. At the very least, a protest committee is allowed to say "yes, your mod is illegal; no, there's no performance advantage, so no penalty." If my region ever did something like that I'd quit running there.

Yeah, it was a local, but not the region we were in at the time. I mean, to the word, yeah, it was illegal. It wasn't fully prepped for any class so IMO it never really would have mattered. Makes the protest more of a douche move too, though.

If you feel inclined to pull the badges, I'd recommend putting them in the glove box. It would certainly be protest bait or at the very least a big discussion point should you podium at nationals. Locally = no care.

It could be a good way to determine which people you never want to interact with. Then again, someone that would protest a debadge probably already made it obvious in one way or another.

The amount of stupid in this world is too damn high.

If someone makes a debadge protest at nats, their car better be squeaky clean legal because it's going to get looked at.

Agreed, but I really, really think the way that rule is worded would allow for a debadge. I think it was more logorrhea than intentional, but there it is.

since we're on the topic, has anyone ever personally witnessed an engine teardown as a result of a protest?

If not, the guy that protests a debadge might be the first.
