Granted, neither of us have sat in the backseat to hear if it's loud back there or not. |

I was thinking the resonated 2.5" with a resonated, but catless front pipe, and catless header. I'm just nervous about the potential for rasp/drone. A little volume isn't a problem, as long as it doesn't rasp or drone. That's the last thing I want.

If you're worried about rasp, get a catted (and possibly resonated) front pipe. Going fully catless will almost guarantee you get rasp.

Cold start is loud (OFT stage 1, idles at 700) but honestly it's perfect for DD with the growl I need. Going with headers soon too, so I should be a-ok. I can even enjoy relaxing jazz on the way to work. When I wanna hear her roar, I'll downshift and roll the windows down |

i have a 3" inch perrin with front pipe. The sound is great, does not drone ( I hate droning with a passion) and looks clean and discreet. Honestly it's amazing stuff.

I also plan on getting the FT86speedfactory catted UEL, would it be best to go 2.5" resonated instead of 3"? 2.5 or 3" front pipe, catted or uncatted? |

I'm honestly not too sure on what you are trying to ask in regards to the different sizes? |

You said that a catted front pipe will keep the 3" decently quiet for a DD, but most FP are 2.5", what if the 3" catback is mated with the 3" catted FP you guys used to offer? will it be louder when compared to a setup with a 2.5" catted front pipe, or will the volume stay around the same?

You will probably wouldn't notice much difference at all. They are about the same sound level with that setup. |

Does anyone have uncatted el headers with a 2.5 inch resonated perrin catback? Just want to know how loud it would be. Am I better off going with invidia q300

Are you planning on keeping the stock front pipe? If so any decent quality EL headers should sound fine paired with a Perrin. Don't get the 3inch for NA setups. If you do get a header I would recommend getting a open flash tablet to take advantage of the header. Another option to look at would be the r400. Looks to be an option between the Q300 and perrin 2.5inch

Don't know if this helps you, but I have a uncatted UEL header with a 2.5 inch resonated perrin catback, stock overpipe and front pipe. In my opinion it is not very loud, but the change to uncatted UEL headers did make a noticeable difference. Unless you have measurements of the different decibel levels, it will mostly be opinion based. Cold starts are not too different and there is still no droning in the cabin. I know most videos can't do justice to what you are trying to decide, but they can give you an idea of what to expect. I have a video on my insta @ b86 of what my setup sounds like, just couldn't figure out how to upload it for you lol. Anyways, good luck! |

The r400 was originally my exhaust of choice but upon searching through forums I came across ppl saying that once they mated it with a header it became too loud, which then made me go oh shit and looked towards the q300 and Perrin which have a rep for being the quietest catbacks. Quote:
Thank you guys for the replies. |

Perrin is louder than the q300. If you want a bit more noise maybe look at front pipe vs catback?
