I have Ecutek, but it would be nice to just be able to plug up my phone and monitor that way.
It's the same for me!

In Torque Pro you can install the knock test. Although you can't monitor it. With EcuTek Racerom you will see the check engine light flash if you receive a knock.

I think knock test plugin doesn't work, I try it in my Mazda Miata NC and in my BRZ making a comparison in same test conditions where OFT first and EcuTek datalogging later read some
"knock corr." (OFT) and "knock correction ca" / "knock correction learn value ca" (EcuTek).

About check engine light flash:
I haven't tuned BRZ yet, are you sure? I asked about this feature 6 month ago directly to ecutek support and they reply me :

"Unfortunately the Custom Fuel Economy Gauge Display feature had to be removed as it was causing problems in other systems such as the ABS system (where the gauge took vehicle speed from the ABS sensors to make the economy calculation)

We tried very hard to make the feature work but the vehicle would just not allow it.

Check your Bluetooth connection again. If you're using one of the cheap elm327 dongles they're pretty notorious for losing connection.

So I read the entire thread and decided to get a Scantool.net OBDLink LX. Paired it with Torque Pro and it seems to work well.

A few things to mention:

1. There was a lot of confusion it seemed regarding oil temperature in the thread. I can confirm that I used the built in oil temperature sensor in Torque Pro and it worked. Didn't have to input any PIDs. I believe this is because the developer has added the PID to torque, so any new users don't need to worry about doing it. Just wanted to emphasize this.

2. Anyone using Throttle vs. PedalD vs. PedalE? I am interested in logging one of these for auto-cross to visualize my inputs to the car. However, I'm not sure which to use. Throttle was in the torque HUD by default; however it doesn't read the same as pedalD and pedalE. PedalD and PedalE seem to read approximately the same, but not quite.

3. Regarding the OBDLink LX: anyone else having a hard time getting it to go to sleep? I played with it 5-6 times (connecting w/ car on, then turning car off, then waiting 10-15 minutes). The only way I can get it to go to sleep is if I turn off bluetooth on my phone. Otherwise, my phone maintains a connection with the OBD reader, and won't let it sleep. If I turn off bluetooth, the OBD reader monitors the voltage, looking for a <0.1 Vpp ripple (as specified in the Torque settings). It seems to reliable turn off after ~10 minutes. However, it'd be nice for this to happen without turning bluetooth on my phone off. I am mostly paranoid I will forget to turn bluetooth off one day and then I could potentially drain my battery if I don't drive my car for a few days. Any input on this would be appreciated!

See my post above yours! This is what I was referring to about the confusion about the oil temp! Oil temp should work by simply adding it in torque to your dashboard!

I'm BRZ shopping right now, I need to scratch that itch, should not have sold mine 2 years ago...

I tried using Torque on my Crosstrek to check the Calibration ID and only ended up with the first 3 digits(EP5 in my case). Does torque provide the full calibration ID to make sure the recalls have been done on a 86? Not just ZA1 for example.

I'm going to look at one tomorrow, anyone knows?
