Are you a girl? I mean, you are also known as Felicia. I should hit up GTX for some game advice.

All Ultra's fault I stayed since I was having fun.
Glad you stuck around, learned lots from general chats and other posts. :3

Plus, I would've been a lurker with like less than 100 posts if you weren't.

...Welp, I'm officially debt free (excluding the house), and the turbo will have to wait another year, or maybe tax season if I'm feeling particularly devious.
I was going to get a graphic vinyl wrap of a near naked anime girl on my hood but had second thoughts about it due to cost. Figured paying off the car is more important than naked anime girl.

Looked at how much has been applied to principle and interest... I nearly broke down in metaphorical tears. Half of money from tax is going to payment, other half is savings.

If KR-s is a girl we were made for each other and I am leaving my wife and family (unless of course she is ugly as sin in which case forget it)

I only stuck around because I enjoyed the banter with a few of the guys. Ironically some of the ones that kept me here were perma banned not long after I joined. Sklimo and some weirdo called Litemup (among others) come to mind. By that time I was hooked though so decided to stick around.

You learned stuff from General chat? That is impressive. I have little doubt that you would have joined in whether I had been here or not since at least Ultra would have drawn you in.

I told you before that the graphics would have been automatic expulsion from Team Lava since they violate the bylaws.

If you can pay off the car then do it. Don't make me have to break out Moose Girl to keep @Dadhawk at bay.

What kind of interest rate do you have?

Half the reason I keep buying new cars is the interest rate is crazy low.

My house on the other hand, interest is low but on a much bigger sum.
Looking at how much goes to principal+escrow this past year is slightly depressing.

Whoa haven't seen you post in a while! Congrats, married huh...at the recent company holiday party I was one of the few people who didn't bring a spouse. Now you're in the old people club :P

I only go argue with people about why low end torque sucks in off topic so I feel like I don't recognize any of the usernames anymore The 2011 days of speculation were so much fun.

.....8%

Long story short, FCU could've financed me at 6% but I wouldve had to put upfront payment of about 15 grand. Went with toyota financial and put down 10 grand.

But to be frank, I have literally no other obligation besides car payments + misc. bills. So by premature calculations, I should be able to pay off the car by June thru late summer of next year... after a year of ownership.

I also apply more than the minimum stated each month so principle goes down even more.

You should try SoFi, Upstart, or Earnest (cheapest personal loans on the market). Credit and income need to be good though. Since money is well, fungible, you can just say it's for home improvement or vacation or something and essentially refinance at 5-6% instead. One of the low cost online lenders is going to roll out auto loans pretty soon and you'd be able to get in the 4-5% range easily since there's collateral.

(I work in the fintech industry lol)

I would try to get a lower rate, but at the same time it doesn't sound like you're doing bad since it'll be paid off mid next year.

Yeah, I would try to re-finance but don't think my credit is that much better in the 6 months since I've purchased the car...

Yes, and by making more than the required payment, the principal is going down much more quickly. Therefore, much less interest paid overall and the rule of 88s works for you, rather than against you.

I had no idea what that was and all I found was rule of 78s.

Wouldn't that only work against you if you have a loan based on that instead of a "regular" loan (and you aren't paying the extra interest on the 78s loan for the first few months)?
