I agree that it's worth knowing how the car acts with aids.
Keep in mind 17+ TC/VSC is far superior to the complete garbage in the 13-16 cars. The 17+ is viable enough that I actually never turn it off on the street, whereas I permanently have it off in 13-16 cars.

It was a b5 as well. Not the avant though. It had the 2.8 in with a pes supercharger. Loved that car. Ended up being held up in southfield and having it stolen aaaaand eventually totaled.

I haz sad for you. The PES kit was such a great upgrade for that motor. ok, so it was basically the only upgrade, but....

Sorry you lost it, but hey, you are like the nth B5er that I know who has crossed over to the 86 platform.

So... all this time, I've been laboring under the idea that the tyres on the car stock were actual summer tyres. I've been so happy with the car that I never thought about it. Actually, the truth is that the car is so much better than my ratty old VWs which require CONSTANT VIGILANCE! that I've not really dug into anything much beyond oh, look I have brake pads left! No drips? Yay! (seriously, owning older VWs is not for the toolage-averse)

Prius tyres.

That explains everything.

Well, it occurred to me that I should save them for road trips. They are good for that.

Technically, optional summer equipment for the Prius in Europe.

Also, the CT200 that is universally lauded for its nimble, handling prowess? Same tire.

The OEM tire is fantastic for what it is; it's just apples and oranges to compare it to a true dedicated summer tire.

Check to see if you have the Primacy or a different tire. Some cars are equipped with all seasons.

+1 From Michelin's website:
Quote:
This summer tire delivers precise wet and dry handling and is original equipment on luxury touring vehicles like Lexus GS 430, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6.
https://www.michelinman.com/tire/michelin/primacy-hp

The 'Prius tyre' gossip was half click bait half marketing, worked pretty well (thanks Clarkson) and it's annoying imho. I heard that they were supposed to be super cheap, but due to lack of sales Michelin cut supply/proudction to the US before the FRZ landed and they shot up in price making them totally not worth buying when just about any <$200 OE sized summer tire is a better performer.

Hey. I am sure you are already aware of Michigan86. But hit up BaoHouse Tuning if you need any parts or consult what parts to get. We track 2 86. One is getting LS Swapped while the other is just dedicated track car with stock powertrain.

I have the Primacy HPs. Somehow I totally equated "summer tyres" on the car spec sheet with actual "summer tyres".

The main local drift guy said to save them and I can burn them up in the spring when drift season starts again. As I would like to learn to drift anyway, now I just have to figure out how to hide them from my spouse. What is one more set, right?
