you're right.
i am pointing that people who already owned Scion.
If i had camry and Scion took over toyota, i still wouldnt care as long as there is support from company.

if i am in market for new car, then it's different story though.
I actually choosed BRZ over FRS when i heard FRS is coming from Scion not Toyota

No, that's not brand tiering. That's a comparision of two different makers at different ends of the spectrum of automotive purpose. Here, let me search for you: "brand tiering"

Wrong...again. I've simply stated what seems obvious to me, given my experience. Your statements above are a complete mis-characterization of what I have said, as anyone who reads my posts can see. You also have no sentient answer to the simple questions I have asked you. There's nothing "circular" about that. You simply have no factual basis for your wrongheaded opinions, and are resorting to nonsensical obfuscation. I have already wasted too much valuable time responding to your ridiculous contentions, and will now stop.... before my nasty side appears.

My $17k Toyota is not nearly as nice as my $37k Toyota, I bet if I change the badge on the front that'll class it up!

Shortly after buying my FRS I wanted to put a Prius emblem on it's trunk lid. Just have not yet done so, as they want too much for the emblem.

Maybe there's a Chinese knockoff emblem available ?

What I'd really like is a Prius A emblem. It's the sports car model, so why not an A

Whatever it takes to mess with others (who just don't have a clue about cars) is often my motto.

Are you reading my posts?
How do you explain all of the badge switching that has gone on with these cars if brand makes no difference in consumer perceived value?
You apparently missed the comment about a pissing contest at which my coffee drank comment was directed. I drank a lot of coffee so had loads of piss so I was ready for the contest.

I responded that a history as a used car dealer is not a great recommendation. I provided my resume brief.
Yes unfortunately.

I explained the badging change was due to guys saying it was a Toyota anyway.

Again, what makes you an expert?
4 cups of coffee and a keyboard?
Rhetorical in the context of your statement.

Again the whole used car salesman thing.

Never claimed to be an expert. This was responded to.

Again a reference to the joke you missed.

To this point I believe I have answered every question. You just chose to ignore the answers to the couple of real questions since they did not fit with your view. The rest of the questions were basically rhetorical or just flat out sarcasm and did not require a response. If I missed an intelligent question there someplace please point it out so I can respond.

Pcoat, you forgot to "thank" a few of the posts from other members in this thread...would't want anyone to feel left out. Have you ever "thanked" a post of a solitary poop emoticon, or the like? I'm not familiar with your entire body of work here, but this thread is surely a sterling example of how you've earned some of the obviously well deserved 26,327 thanks so proudly displayed under your clever avatar. A tip of the hat to you, Sir. You are a true benefit to the site...congratulations also on your enormous post count, and "thanks" for all your invaluable contributions. You have truly inspired me to continue sharing my comparatively tiny ability to add value to the discussions here. Keep up the good work.

Back to the cars, I am hoping Toyota will deliver on at least the updates that have been repeated in the numerous things I've read on '17 model. I'm going to have to feel pretty warm and fuzzy to cough up ~$27K on a new car, when a very similar '13, '14 or even '15 can be had for ~$10K less. If I still had my '13 FRS, I doubt the new car would inspire me to sell it for the moderate improvements predicted. I also wouldn't be worried about the inevitable post '17 or '18 model release depreciation on my '13. Still beats payments and new car depreciation. If you want to see some real depreciation pain, you don't have to look too hard to find 10-12 year old 6 figure cars with less than 50K on them selling at auction for under $20K. Those cars lose that value because they earn the perception that they are unreliable, very deep money pits. Makes 86 depreciation look like couch change. Problem is, I'm sportscarless for the 1st time since 2008, and I'm jonsin'...BAD.
