We cannot leave the forum full with the non-sense arguments of this guy. Especially when young people are joining and seek advice or help. If we do this, then it means that we don't care anymore. Personally, I am expecting the admins to take some actions soon. Till this happens, we as members have to defend the different topics.

Which one is it? If it has much more power and is a much better handler, why was it basically a dead heat in the test you're talking about and 1.5 seconds slower in the one I shared? If it really is that much more powerful and a better handler it shouldn't have been close at all.

You do realize that with the revised springs and shocks they also put on a bigger rear sway bar, right?

This thread is like watching a train wreck. For fuck's sake STFU.

-'17 GT86 is on OEM Michelin Primacy HARD AF SLIDEY NO GRIP TIRES

-'17 Miata is on Bridgestone Potenza S01 PRETTY GOOD NOT GREAT BUT MUCH GRIPPIER THAN 86 TIRES

I have Primacies. I had Potenza S01's on my last car. The Potenza is a much stickier tire, the Michelins are a much more fun tire. This is the difference between these two SLOW AS FUCK CARS.

This conversation is arguing over which slow ass small engined slow poke is faster. Who gives a rat's ass. Neither car is built for speed, this is a useless rigged comparison of 2 cars $10k apart on radically different tires. You want a fast car? FUCK THESE CARS AND FUCK THIS THREAD. Buy a WRX for the same money. You want a fun car? Do you have $25k or $35k? Do you want 2 seats or 2+2 seats? that's all that matters.

This fucking thread has to die

You do realize that with the revised springs and shocks they also put on a bigger rear sway bar, right?
The improvement for the BRZ in 2017 as compared to 2015 was to handling. 5hp more isn't the difference.

Yes, Subaru upped the rear bar rate by around 30% but they also upped the front spring rate by 10-15%. Roll bar rates have half the effective rate of the spring rate for the bar. Net result is less roll resistance at the rear axle and more at the front axle.

Subaru moved the roll stiffness (load transfer) forwards onto the front axle, reducing the loads on the rear axle. This should permit the driver to get more power down coming out of the bend and make the car more stable in transitions.

So the BRZ catches up to the MX5 RF both in the transitions where previously it was weak and at the beginning of the straights coming out of the corners where it previously had delays in getting the power down.

This is chassis 101 you know.
