Axle back exhaust feed back requested
FT86 peeps,
I have a customer wanted an axle back, I ordered the Greddy SP for him, but Greddy discontinued it. They are no longer making it and the new model Supreme SP is now a catback version only. Do you guys think there is still a demand for an axle back exhaust? The price will obviously be cheaper, I think the list price is around $500 Please post of your thoughts, thanks for your participation and time everyone. Gruppe-S |

I have a top speed pro-1 axle-back exhaust and I like it. The tips are bigger than stock, and fill the holes, sounds great with the right header. The hangers weren't right though, took some creative shimming to get it to hang right. The beauty of exhaust parts that line up with stock is that they can be mixed and matched to get the right effect. i.e. power, tone, and miles per gallon.

Well, an axle-back exhaust was and still is attractive to me.
I just wanted a "better" sound and larger exhaust tips. The nameless muffler did that for me. humfrz |

+1 to what humfrz said, i just wanted to have an improved sound and larger tips at a reasonable price.
I also have the Top Speed axle-back (Greddy SP clone) and i love it. I like having the option to change back to stock for whatever reason i have to without really having to get under. But if i wanted to swap between a daily driving axle-back and a single or dual muffler delete for track days i can do that pretty easily too. Not to say it would be hard with a catback setup but i like the setup simplicity of an axle-back only. I will probably change to a catback at some point but i like what i have. |

Yea the Topspeed one is around $400, do you think a Japanese made one would sell for $525? Would people pay $125 more for a Japanese brand or would people just prefer the cheapest one possible?

I got an SP elite for $300, so I went with that. If it wasn't so cheap, I probably would have gone with a catback.

I definitely would of purchased the real deal, I planned on it until i came across the cheap one and rolled the dice. For an Axle-back it was a low risk purchase to be honest and so far it has been fine. I surely wouldn't do this to a more critical part in the car or a forced induction kit. My lip kit is another example, I wanted the legit HT Auto's kit but Bayson R's version came out for more than half the price. I gambled on that because i knew it would be something that could get trashed by daily wear. I think people would go for the Japanese brand especially if the price difference is minimal and if you buy from a reputable shop. For $525 I don't see why not, that's a pretty sweet deal. I'm rather shocked that they discontinued it but I guess people were demanding a catback version instead. |

I have the WORKS axle back, quality and fitment is outstanding, sounds fantastic (and not too loud at cruising speed), comes with double wall 4" tips, and I paid I believe right at $400. Honestly very happy with it and would highly recommend

Some more axle back love inbound:
I have the Topspeed SP Elite copy and I love it. It sounds good, looks good and didn't break the bank. I have no reason to spend $600+ on an exhaust. All I wanted was a little bump in volume. The extra work to install and mainly the money involved in a catback wasn't justifiable. I feel that axle back exhausts are a great and cost effective solution for people like me who think most of the stock exhaust is fine, and just want a little more volume. |

Me too. I have the muffled AB-M from Works. Love it. Sounds great, not drone your annoying but sounds tough on throttle.
