Spider living in my car?
So something totally frustrating and strange happened to me on my drive to work today. I slightly cracked my passenger side window while driving and saw a spider on the outside edge of my window. I tried rolling the window down to blow if off but it was a stubborn one. I rolled the window back up just in case it decided to blow into my car as opposed to off of my car. Once I arrived in the parking lot I got out and tried to kill it. It was way too fast for me and crawled into my fender insert. I didn't have time to further investigate and now I have been sitting at work frustrated wondering where the damn thing could be. Any advice or input?

I think we all agree, the only reasonable thing to do in this situation.

It was a red back too so I'm hoping its a jumping spider and not a black widow. If I get bit, I better wake up with some damn super powers.

F that. maybe you should ask the insurance company to just total the car. if they give you shit about it, ask them if they would like a spider to live in their car too.

I had a spider living in my 4Runner last fall. Each night it would leave trails of spider web all over my dash. I tried repeatedly to find it but had no luck. It took several straight days of below freezing temps last winter before the problem solved itself. The little bugger must have froze.
My suggestion is to park in the sun with all the windows rolled up on a hot sunny day. Nature will do the rest.

Bug bomb inside your car or drive it into the river. It might have babies and if those pop out inside the car... Oh boy

I'm not sure how dangerous of a spider you think it is, but if you're really wanting to make sure it's gone I think the best thing you could do is give your car a good wash with a lot of soaking, and letting the suds sit on the car for awhile. Also, you might try just driving the car for awhile as I imagine all of the wind and heat from the engine might make it too uncomfortable to stick around on your car if the former doesn't do the job
That's the only thing I can think to do in your situation, anyway - good luck! |
