Just curious, how do other 4-2-1 headers compare to the Ace 350? Are the Tomei and HKS EL headers pretty close or is it just a total blowout? These are super nice but the cost is kind of prohibitive for a NA solution IMHO. I'm currently using the JDL UEL catless headers, but have been thinking about changing to a 4-2-1 EL.

Only other in the same game was Nameless. Ace 350 pulls harder below 3500 for sure, and dynos show why. Withholding judgement on the top end till I get things sorted (finally getting my 3" front pipe, and discovered 2 of 3 studs missing at the header/overpipe flange on my Ace)

I had the same issue with two of the three flange bolts going missing after about 3,000 miles. I wish that I had taken photos of the solution I ‘engineered’, but it basically involved replacing the original bolts with slightly longer 304 stainless steel hex-cap bolts torqued to spec with a jam nut applied on the other side of the nut that’s welded to the backside of the flange. Problem solved.

I tried locking nuts against each other on the studs to get some grip when installing but was hesitant to go too tight since they were copper. I tightened till the nuts started turning.

There's others that are good, i.e. Ptuning, JDL, P&L. I have a 4-1 catted P&L header (bought used for $400ish) that made a big difference in power. ACE is probably the best, but it's not the only game in town - there are other great options for way less investment.

Say you buy the ACE A350, Ecutek cable + license and the Delicious Ace tune, do you just flash this "OTS" tune like you do with OFT and that's it? Do you still need to perform pulls on the street and tune over the air for a "street tune". Or does this have to be done at a local dyno?

I just finished Delicious tuning on my ACE350+Delicious Tuning flex fuel kit. Haven’t gotten a chance to get a real dyno yet but my butt dyno definitely saying this setup delivers. The difference is especially noticeable in low and midrange.

The initial tune given is mainly to test for safety to make sure there are no issues, leaks ect. The pulls on the street are what is used to fine tune to your particular setup to get the most out of it. He will do it until its perfect

This is a premium header, that while offered at a premium price, also comes with premium performance, and premium support. |
