Having a hard time finding light sockets for a 1157 or 3157 bulb that's isn't from an old vehicle. Those sockets are huuuuge and bulky. Is that what everyone is using? If not any suggestions?!?

I used a smaller bulb (921) and this

just a little rubbery/plastic socket I found at an autoparts store. that probably doesn't help you much but at least it's an alternative

I just purchased this kit, used a 15% off coupon and it was like $39 including shipping. Comes with everything needed, even the drill bit and LED light. Hard to beat that price even getting the parts myself.

I suppose it's possible, I haven't had any problems and you can read about my less-than-perfect experience up above and the cheap little socket I used.

Or just wire the activation switch to the front fog circuit so that when your factory front fogs turn on, so does your rear. I'd require running much longer wires, but it wouldn't involve your tails at all.

So anyone that took off their light, how the hell did you do it with the stock muffler in place? I tried today but after 10 minutes of my hand squeezed up to removed the bolts, I gave up, ha. I figured it's easier just to drop the muffler to access everything. Is there a secret way I'm missing here? Nobody ever mentioned removing their muffler so I feel like there's something I'm missing, haha.

I did it without removing the muffler. It's tough. Have to be careful blnot to break the light. The muffler is no big deal to remove. Put stuff(soap, oil, etc) on the hangers to make them slippery to more easily get them off.

So... after 3 months... getting the Traction Control and ABS light error

So I wired up the JDM rear brake/fog kit about 3 months ago. No problems since the install... until this week. I've been getting a traction control / ABS light on my dash.

After some fiddling, it looks like when I turn on the headlights (and on goes the rear light mod), the Traction Control / ABS light turns on.

I clipped the rear light mod wires to sever it from the circuit and the TC / ABS lights go off.

Are some light control modules just more finicky?

I'm going to try to rewire NOT off the parking brake circuit but off the license plate power and see how it goes.

My front turn signals (which are switch backs) blink on and off now randomly, not sure if because of this install, or the Diode Dynamics Brake light as turn light module..either way. going to try to revert back to stock tomorrow and see if that fixes it.

I have the Diode Dynamics Brake light as turn light module as well ad I just spliced into the module itself for the 12v signals. I believe red was for the running lights and yellow was for the brake lights if I remember correctly. Oh, and I snapped my tab on the light assembly lol. That thing is a SOB to remove, I thought I was being gentle until it just snapped lol. But with the bolts and everything in it, it still doesn't move so I'm not really worried about it.

I just installed the ijdmtoy kit and it was a pain in the @$%. the socket is just not a good fit and the instructions were horrid. I referred to the instructions here for the most part. I didn't remove the fog light. I just drilled a hole laying under the car, took my time because as previously stated, the plastic is very brittle. I am happy with the results though. the provided led light provides the perfect amount of light in my opinion. I tapped all three wires directly to the three drivers side taillight wires.
