I was thinking XP12s and just deal with dust/noise on the street since they aren't hard on rotors and they dust doesn't destroy your wheel finish if it gets wet.

Carbotech used to stay not to switch between the AX6 and the XP series, but I thought remembered Emilio saying this isn't true anymore. Thoughts?

I'm open to other brands, but I've got a bunch of experience with Carbotechs on two different brake setups on Miata's and always liked the feel on the pedal.
If you like em, stick with em!

Its pretty clear when you are doing that, plus its pretty hard to drive properly when you are slumped in your seat and your thighs are touching the steering wheel...

I've seen many people eek by the broom test, the track workers fully aware that they are loose in their seats and scrunching. Then the drivers get in proper position while waiting in line.

Just signed up for my first track day, and am gonna need to pick up pads obviously. It's at Road America, which has a super long (read: fast) front straight. I was thinking I'd go with either Carbotech XP10s or Project MU Club Racers. Any input?

Turn 1 isn't that hard on brakes since the speed delta isn't that great. Turn 5 and 12 are the killers.

I had good luck with the club racers there. Total confidence over two days.

I skimmed through this thread and I am totally confused..lol lots of Mfgs. but good rating system. My question is, I plan to track my car and move through the groups and stay in a group i'm satisfied with. I may go to the track 1-2 times a month so it seems worth it to just switch pads for track days. In that case I'm not concerned about noise and dust just good bite and reliability. I will get slotted and drilled rotors which I can use on the street and track which will help with cooling in both scenarios. I have Project Mu PGFOUR G-Four Brake Fluid on the way also. I will move up to a seperate set of wheels and tires eventually. So what pads would be good for this scenario? I really don't want to spend a lot of money but I don't want something that will only last 5-6 track sessions.

thanks for any help!

The only real fix to that is to get a BBK up front, so you don't spend a lot of money on pads.

Don't bother with "upgrading" rotors. Changing rotors is not an "upgrade". Spend that money on pads instead.

Guys i'm after some advice on my brakes. Before I did sandown I got a shop to do track prep service type deal and got among other things Penrite racing super DOT4 brake fluid. Rest of brake setup is stock.

Now it's like a week later and my brakes are still really soft feeling. My research online seems to suggest that is due to boiled brake fluid? Is it possible I boiled the Penrite fluid with stock setup ? Or are the stock pads and rotors ruined from heat.

On way home from work yesterday morning I could barely get ABS to trigger.

Heres pics of my front rotors 1 week later.

Both sides have groove that catch a fingernail but I'm not sure if that would affect the feel or not ?

Thanks
