Silently to myself, "Shit, did I blow a hose? ... Ohhhh." I giggle and wave.

Car pulls away.
I've found this to be an effective method for "confusing" another driver that is doing something to you.

In my older years, I just give them a big smile and a friendly waive ......

This totally confuses them, because, they think that you just didn't "get" what they did to you. ........

Of course, if they should want to pursue it and corner me and threaten me or my passenger, I'll slip my old .45 ACP out of that pouch behind the front passenger seat ....... and let it represent me ......

The wave was on purpose but I giggled accidentally, thinking "Aww, how cute."

Can be confusing when it s just coincidence that they picked that moment to actually clear the windshield.
Either way it's still an inconsiderate thing to do to use the window washer in traffic. At 70 mph it'll probably hit cars 100' (33m) behind you. Most of the times it's happened to me it was just someone washing their windshield.

But that didn't make me any less annoyed...

Didn't say I supported the action. Even when done totally innocently by some clueless person it is annoying. Some cars are worse than others though.
