I took my car to one of the best shops in the bay area to get it done (they typically do very high end cars) and it was $700ish.

Here is how I would suggest you decide whether its worth it to you. Take a look at the front of your current car, which presumably does not have clear bra. If you drive it any number of miles, you will surely find a number of rock chips and other damage on the front end. Does that bother you? Do you wish the front end looked like it did when it was new, or fairly close to it? If so, then clear bra is worth it. If you're OK with rock chips and cosmetic damage, then skip it. Yes with time the film can age, turn yellow, maybe even crack and peel but that is years down the line and it is removable. I have clear bra on my 10 year old Lexus that still looks good, albeit a little yellowed but in my mind not having the front end peppered with chips was worth it. Not everyone agrees on that.
Those are very good points to consider.

I actually don't have a car right now and the BRZ will be my first, so I can't really speak from experience whether I'd appreciate the protection. Closest I can get is: up till this latest phone I've got, I've usually been the person who insists on getting a case for it. I don't know if that's really a good 1:1 argument but it kind of seems like it since it shows the kind of person I am, maybe?

Which place did you have it done at?

Starting to think it's worth it, at least for the front bumper.

Since it's going to be my first car and I plan to have it a long time, it seems additional protection would be a good investment.

+1 for Premier. I had them do the clear bra on my Lexus in 2007 too... still looks great!

I just got my car CQuartz treated by Jeff at Immaculate Reflections in Brentwood (highly recommended!). He said Premier is the best protective film shop in the Bay Area.

You can try giving @AutoRnD a call. Rishie should be able to help you out.

Any FR-S owners running LED DRLs instead of the halogens?

I was reminded of how bad and blinding the halogen DRLs look when a FR-S was behind me today.

Worth it getting LEDs for these? Should I just disable DRL via techstream? Maybe it's good that the halogens are blinding so people notice me? Thoughts?

From what I've read, LED bulbs in the DRL positions will either lose high beam capabilities, or will just run at basically full power (so basically high beams).

Also got my Noco G3500 battery charger in the mail. Nice packaged and the build quality feels and looks good. I'll plug in the FR-S Monday night to charge the battery to full.

Anyone know how to use the battery repair mode? When I charged the battery the last time, it never went past 95%.

There's always a parasitic draw - small amounts that keep your clock, radio memory, computer, alarm, etc "ON". Unplug the battery and you may see above 95%.

As for battery repair mode (aka re-balancing), it's a hit or miss TBH. Some batteries don't take a lot to actually damage the cell(s) and become unrepairable. Batteries are consumables. Nonetheless, read your manual how to use the repair mode. Typically tho, charge the battery THEN repair it.

Good luck

Ah, didn't think about that.

The part that confused me in the repair mode instructions was to unplug the battery. Figured out they probably meant remove the battery from the car after fully charging it to use the repair mode.

I'll probably forgo repair mode and just charge it up once a week.

Thanks for the info.
