We only have propel e85 stations around here. I think we are getting price gouged here...

It's not a whole lot cheaper in orlando, I think around 60 cents or so.

switched back to 93 mainly because its been cold and snowing. i miss the extra oomph allready. it ran great on e85 except immediately after a cold start. it had no problems cranking and started 1st try every time, but it would make a popping sound around 1500rpms after starting. if i just touched the throttle a little bit it would stop doing it. we had one day were the temps got up to 60 and it did not do it. not sure what it is.

2.99 at the Oakland station when I pumped last week.

Put a gallon of 91 in with 9 gallons left of e85 to see if that helps with cold start. well instead of 3 times it only took 2 times to start. not yet convinced this works. Sounds like Vishnu is working on cold start issues from another thread.

or you could just bump the cranking ipw table and accomplish the same thing without diluting your e85. you might consider fixing the trims while you're at it. +5% es no bueno if it's in the 40g/s bucket. that's a lot of fuel, and remember e85 doesn't like running rich.

+5% would mean you are running lean. Hence, it's adding fuel to fix the condition.

yes i suppose given that any error would be due to the fuel mixture that holds true. i was thinking more along the lines of maf error where the high trim throws off open loop, but that makes no sense at all being that the fuel mix will be a uniform error. disregard lol.

I was surprised to have had cold start issues this morning on Shiv's E85 tune...yeah it felt cold (in my T-shirt) but it was probably only down to the mid 30's overnight, and I had mid 50's IAT when trying to start...

I guess Cali E85 winter blend isn't as wintery as other locales...

I'll tell you what though E85 and cold air makes for a happy commute....once the car starts lol

Closer to 10th or 15th crank...but who knows what blend they are actually providing at the pump right now, I can play with the cranking maps and get it to work fine since all the hard work has already been done for me

I just filled up my 3rd tank of E85. LTFT shot up to 11% from 7% with the second tank. Also, I got 21.3 MPG with this second tank. Has anyone in Cali tested the ethenol content of Propel's E85? I'm guessing it's pretty high.
