EcuTek in Australian is a joke.

It's a fucking rip off and I disagree with all that. If your in Australian and want EcuTek order it from the USA guys, that simple.

I don't know who Ryan is, but LR are down the road to me and i've already spoken to them about support for this car. They don't have a combined PI/DI ECU available at the moment and their external DI solution is prohibitively expensive, but they are looking at other options.

Here's hoping.

I'd like to know who this guy is. I'm sure we can come to some sort of agreement where we pay a couple of hundred for his services. Let's say $300 - $500 per person for said software? Specialty programs like Photoshop cost around $500 brand new, so it would seem a communication software should be around that much as well. But then again, the market is small...what do you guys think?

I couldn't agree more, but a friend tried to order a cable/tune from FA20Club and they said they couldn't sell it to him and had to go to the local guy...

I think you're a little far off in your quote. Most developpers I know at 300+ per day. A company even more, I know our company charges a lot more than an individual. I would estimate that a project like this, not including RD, ongoing support and the effort to actually market the product would take at least 20 coding days. You add in the RD, support and marketing, and you're looking at 40+ days. No one is going to want to "pitch" in to provide a custom tuning tool at 12 grand. At least with ECUTEK you have support from the company and the tuners. Their prices may be steep and don't allow for end users to do custom tunes, but that may be forthcoming.

I had a slightly disappointing conversation with them at auto sport international. I wouldn't expect PnP from them this year, unfortunately.

Lol sure is!!! call cause EcuTek let one company be the only distributor for this country!! Fucken dumb idea so they just charge what ever they want... fucken annoying.

I heard if they catch other people from other countries selling here they try to shut them down and make them pay fines... (not sure how true that is though).

Damn thats really too bad. I guess the guys over at evom really love evos to do all this work. I thought the only real work would be getting toyotas protocol then doing an ecu disassembly and making it usable for ecuflash (open ecu).
