I hear this nonsense constantly regurgitated on forums.
You can't make up your own facts.

The fastest minivan on record is the Sienna V6 SE,
which has a 0-60 time of 7.1 seconds.

BRZ has a 0-60 of 6.2 seconds.

BRZ has a faster 0-60 than every minivan on the road.
And it weighs half, so it will smoke any minivan in the turns, as well.

So, let's please dispense with this minivan nonsense already!
Minivans are not fast. Because data !

Let’s not forget the R63. There may only a be a handful of them in the states, but if we’re going for facts

4.6 seconds 0-60. ML63’s are quick. I’d love to see an R63.

Leave it to the local idiot to post the outlier exception to the rule.
The exception only proves the rule.

Because data. Unless it’s an outlier, then it’s not data?

The BRZ is faster than nearly every minivan on the road. Because data.

Glad to be the local idiot. I haven’t checked my “why is everyone here a snowflake” thread since I posted it. Might have to make an appearance.

Any real power in the brz is costly and things that should be cheap (headers for example) are not. Plus the ls6 is infinitely more mod friendly and reliable than the fa20. Plus the t56.... way more durable.

I had a ton of fun and gained a lot of experience with my C5z and thought I'd try something different with the brz (had four lsx vehicles prior). I should've bought another vette, honestly. The whole slow car fast mantra here is overused. Imo it's much better to drive a fast car slow..... and be able able to go fast rather than a slow car always being slow except during certain conditions. Especially conditions that would favor the fast car anyways.

Also, comparing a sports car like the Corvette to a v8 pony car is not a fair comparison.

The brz isnt a bad car, but the c5z is a GREAT car.
I agree. Consumables on the C5Z06 are cheap and it's really not that fast where street driving is an issue.

I like my BRZ and drive it both on the street and track.. but I also drive my ZL1 1LE on the street and track. It doesn't have "too much" power for the street, you just don't need to rev it to drive it around. Having excess capacity isn't that bad of a thing...

Not really a "minivan" more of an SUV.

OK,,, old man's (60 yo) opinion now. I'm on my 6th Vette,,, first one at 18. Two C3's, two C4's, a C6 and now a C7. The notion they're only driven by old men has some truth,, new ones are pretty expensive which rules out some younger folks. That said,, I expect one like the OP's a low mile C5 Z06 could be had for what a new FRS goes for. Which means just about anyone could drive one if they wanted.

As for which one to drive. No question for me. The Z06. I love my FRS (although haven't driven it in a while) but there is no comparison. Also something else to keep mind. With 100K on the clock on both,, which is worth more??

Other point the power or lack there of in the FRS. I've put almost 60K on my FRS. Love the car,, dislike the power,, hence the swap I'm doing. I'm not going crazy 325-350HP which will be a good power to weight for the chassis. If you're going to start modding it to get more power,, it doesn't make financial sense

Lastly,,, got out of a C6 that I put 110K on and got into the FRS. I wanted and needed an inexpensive commuter car. The HP in my LS2 was the same as your LS6. Huge difference with the FA20.

Keep the Z06.

They didn't even really know what to call it, "Grand Sports Tourer" was on some of the booklets. Can't be a wagon, too tall.

It has real doors, but a flat floor and 3 rows of seats. SUVs don't have flat floors in my opinion. 251 chassis is heavily based on the 164, so mechanically it's more an SUV than anything else.

If a 4.0 Biturbo can fit in a C class, it might fit in a Metris? Then we'll have a real van running 10s quarter miles

Get the BRZ and when you want a bit more power in the future add boost. Plain and simple.

I went from a 911 Twin Turbo to an MX5. The Turbo, while a great GT car and total beast was only good for certain things. In order to enjoy the car triple digit speed was necessary and obviously that is a recipe for disaster so you end up driving it way below its intended use 90% of the time. While it was a wonderful car it just was too heavy to track and not that engaging.

Bought a Miata and had a blast however the fact that I'm just not a roadster guy and the terrible body roll and feeling like it was a chick car I just never got that feeling I was looking for. Always liked the FRS and drove one and withing 30 seconds I knew this was for me. The power is fine. It's a great track car and very engaging in the twisties. If I wanted a stoplight racer I would have gotten something else.
